Spray Tan for wedding

MeyeToBe, on April 16, 2016 at 7:09 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 35

I just assumed I would get a spray tan (air brush) before my wedding, but now I'm reading that a lot of people say "No Way" to that! What do you guys think? Is there something I'm missing? Why wouldn't I want to do that??

Also, fellow late summer brides - are you avoiding the sun this summer for fear of tan lines?

Ah! This was one area I WASN'T worrying about...until now!

I think pale skin is beautiful and photographs really well, so personally I'd avoid it. The only time I'd consider it is if I had some gnarly tan lines.

Spray tans can photograph orange. Get a good one if you do it.

I am totally doing an organic air brush tan in Maui for my DW. Make sure you test it out first so you can see different shades on your skin tone.

I actually just used a week or 2 of Jergens gradual tan daily lotion creams for my engagement shoot and I think my tan came out really well in the pictures. In face I wish it was a little darker because I can still see a bruise on my leg...

I love spray tans! Have you gotten one before? I would caution you against getting a first one for your wedding because there's a lot that can go wrong. I had planned to get one for our wedding but I was also tanning (in a bed) and decided the week of I felt good with my color and didn't need the spray tan. I wore bandeau bathing suit top whenever I tanned outside.

If you don't regularly get spray tans or haven't gotten one before, your wedding is not the time to try it. Like hair and makeup, do a trial with enough time to make an informed decision.

I've never thought about that before. But then again I hate getting in the sun and tanning in any way. I have very light skin.

My wedding is in October. I've gone outside twice for running and already have faint tan lines. We also have a beach wedding in June. I'm trying to figure out a solution, too. I've never spray tanned but have always been terrified - I blame Ross' bad experience from Friends!

Definitely get a feel for spray tanning before your wedding. Just to be safe!

Wear a strapless top bathing suit outside even if your dress has straps so you don't have conflicting strap lines

I'm planning on going tanning for a couple of weeks before the wedding...no tan lines to worry about!

I wouldn't get a spray tan before the wedding. It doesn't spray evenly over the whole body (i.e.: hands, fingers, knuckles). I would also be scared that the spray would smudge on my dress.

I personally get sweaty regardless of how soon in advance I do them and they get streaky or wear off my armpits and everything ends up different colors. I also hate the way people's hands and feet look with spray tans.... I personally will be using a tanning bed

I'm not a huge fan of being tan. I really prefer being pale. As pale as possible. My gothness works well with it.

Well ladies - thanks for all of the great feedback! I was planning on doing a trial, but you've scared me off of the idea. I think some strapless tops and a tanning bed will have to be my solution!

There was no way I was taking a chance on a spray tan. I've been tanning!

I don't think spray tanning is an issue at all. Just like makeup though do a trail first to make sure the salon you use doesn't spray orange. Honestly I prefer spray tan to fake baking plus it's much safer.

I did neither spray tan or tanning bed. I really don't like spray tans and I don't really want to increase my chance of cancer.

I will be using a tanning bed for a few weeks before because we are going to Mexico for our honeymoon and spray tan doesn't give you a base to prevent severe burns. I'm very fair skinned, so I need something before our trip.
