Spray Tan for wedding

I just assumed I would get a spray tan (air brush) before my wedding, but now I'm reading that a lot of people say "No Way" to that! What do you guys think? Is there something I'm missing? Why wouldn't I want to do that?? Also, fellow late summer brides - are you avoiding the sun this summer for...

Also, fellow late summer brides - are you avoiding the sun this summer for fear of tan lines?

Ah! This was one area I WASN'T worrying about...until now!

I'm definitely going to do it. Make sure you don't go to dark if your light skin like me lol and of course days before your wedding day So you don't get it on your dress.

I do not understand the idea that tan is better at all, in my opinion natural is best, whatever color you are. I also think 9 times out of 10 spray tans look fake. I will be avoiding the sun because I care about my skin's health and I will not be doing a spray tan either and it will be just fine.

By the way, Emily, the whole idea of getting a base tan is a complete myth, you're just damaging your skin and increasing your risk of skin cancer. Sunscreen and lots of it is your best solution for avoiding sunburn.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but tanning beds are so horribly bad for your skin and your health! I would much rather do a spray tan but I am too scared it would rub off on my dress! I think you would have to find a really good place to make sure that it's not streaky or blotchy over your hands / feet. I personally am just going to be pale for my wedding. That's how I typically am unless I have a good summer haha so that's what I'm going with.

I spray tanned before the. I day and thought it was great. I still had color for the honeymoon and didn't look pasty in my wedding pics.

There is no difference between spray tanning and wearing makeup, as long as you get a good spray tanning professional and do a trial run.

I was contemplating trying a spray tan too - of course with a trial before actually doing it for the wedding. I tend to get tan lines easily (I already have light ones from the shoes I wore yesterday!), so I'm concerned I'll have them already by the wedding day. I've never used a tanning bed - the only color I've ever gotten was from being outside. I don't particularly like the idea of going tanning, but I'm concerned about a spray tan becoming streaky and uneven or wearing off on stuff.

Get an airbrush spray tan, you will be fine. It's a preference whether or not you want to be tan but I definitely prefer a little glow. Yes, the sun and UV rays in general are bad for you, but if you don't have a history of skin cancer I personally believe everything in moderation. Get an airbrush tan where someone is controlling it on you and not standing in an automatic booth with no control of where the mist goes. I plan on getting a little tan on my own and then probably airbrush a couple days before just to give a little extra glow. As long as you don't go too dark, you should be fine. Do test ahead of time just to make sure you don't have an allergy to the solution. Not common but good to make sure before the wedding.

I worked at a tanning salon for a while. My advice would to be go in buy a membership for a month or a pack of three or whatever they offer and mess around with it before your wedding! You always want to shower, shave and exfoliate before you spray. I personally use mystic and love it! Use a primer if the have any, this will help to prevent splotches!

I love spray tans. I get them when I am a bridesmaid and will get one for all of my wedding related events. I've never had any issues. Here is a pic of me sprayed for a wedding I was in (I'm in the middle). I recommend that you do a trial first. Exfoliate and follow the instructions. Don't go to a booth, have an actual person do it.

If you are really considering a spray tan at least do a trial one to see what color exactly that you want. In my opinion I think it looks really silly when the bride is really tan compared to a white or ivory dress. I don't personally like spray tan because it does look pretty fake and usually comes out orange plus I think it leaves an odor on your skin. A natural tan is the way to go in my opinion just a little. If you are worried about tan lines just wear a strapless bikini. I just think it will look better.

I had to get a very light tan as I am nearly blue I'm that pale.i do get a lovely colour but well I don't live in that kind of a climate and I think tan bed make you orange. I got a very light spay tan two days before the wedding, she only sprayed once instead of the normal twice it came out really light and natural. Perhaps get one done beforehand though to make sure it works for you first.

Everything in moderation!!! I occasionally tan in a bed because I like the way I look more with a "glow". I did recently spray tan (in a booth) for my Step-brother's wedding in Texas and it actually turned out great! I followed the instructions. No streaking, not orange, nothing. It was great. I recommend it, but make sure you do a trial first!
