Spinoff: Nerdy/Geeky Wedding Music

Right now we are going to probably use the following songs:

Processional - Can You Feel the Love Tonight - from "The Lion King" or You’ve got a Friend in Me from Toy Story

Bride Entrance – So this is Love from Cinderella or Harry in Winter from Goblet of Fire (idea from @MaryGwendolyn)

We are undecided on the recessional, cake cutting and entrance song. We do know we want The Rains of Castamere played at some point during dinner.

I wanted our grand entrance music to be the Imperial March (Star Wars). DH refused so we went with The Who.

Processional is the Star Trek Voyager opening theme, music from the Sims 1, Transistor, and Trine shows up during dinner/cocktail hours, and there's a bunch of songs from musicals in there -- Don't Tell Mama (Cabaret), Helpless (Hamilton), "Roxie" and "When You're Good to Mama" (Chicago), some stuff from Into the Woods and A Chorus Line... there's probably more but we have to go soon.

Recessional is the celebration parade song from the end of Star Wars Episode I

We're searching for Star Trek songs!

I'm walking down the aisle to Hedwigs Theme!

I'm hoping our band will be able to play the theme from The Princess Bride for entrance. Exit...I'm seriously thinking of The Hero of Canton from Firefly and have Jayne hats for the whole wedding party to put on to exit.

Our recessional was "men in black" and our reception entrance was game of thrones with batman mixed in for my son.

@RJmargo I would be terrified if I heard The Rains of Castamere during dinner!! Haha

We left our reception to "Ballad of Serenity" from Firefly.

@ VC, FH and I discussed the imperial march also and he also said no.

@Margaux, LOL. My FH wants to get nerf guns to hide under our table and 'shoot' anyone who looks up recognizing the song. I'm cool with playing it, but thought that would be taking it a little to far. I'm curious to see if anyone says anything hilarious when it starts playing though.

We used the Forrest Gump feather theme song for my processional.

I walked to the Jurassic Park theme song and we used "Everything is Awesome" from the Lego Movie as our recessional. For our wedding party intro into the reception we used the Dr. Who theme song and our dj switched it to the Tardis sound for DH and myself. We used a piece from Dr. Who call "Onwards" for the cake cutting and since DH is a huge Archer fan he picked "Danger Zone" as the garter toss song.

We used star wars cantina for the moms processional and imperial March for guys. My girls walked in to the golden girls theme song. It was a tough decision between that and the full house theme song, but full house, even the full length, wasn't long enough.

@Stephanie, I love full house and hadn't thought about using it. I could see length being a problem though. Did you see the fuller house teaser?

I was thinking about using Across the Stars from Star Wars II. Many people probably wouldn't even recognize it but I WOULD KNOW

@RJ are our FH twins or something? FH wants to do the same thing after the bridal party is all announced! We're just worried that too many people won't get it.

I've always wanted to break into the wedding scene from Much Ado About Nothing mid ceremony, but again, if people don't get it, it's just horrifying/silly.

Our only geeky music so far is Adventure Time recessional, but we're just starting to plan those details now.

Rj - oh yes! I can't wait for 2/26. We had a really long walk so it was just too short unfortunately. But golden girls still went over well!
