Spaghetti?

Is spaghetti for dinner at the reception too laid back? Or trashy for lack of a better word?

That's what we did, but we made sure there was plenty to go with it...spaghetti, garlic bread, and Caesar salad was plenty...plus, plenty to drink, and, of course, the cake! =)

Pasta is fine, but may I suggest having a more protein-centered option as well? Some of your guests may have blood sugar issues you're unaware of, and pasta is a great way to make it spike and drop. For instance, while pasta is fine for me most of the time, occasionally my blood sugar will spike and drop if I eat too much sugar/starch at once without enough protein. This makes me so tired that I may as well pass out from it, I turn into a slug essentially. It also isn't something that anyone other than my doctor and DF know about.

I think it's fine, but I'd be the person to spill on myself.

I, personally, don't even like spaghetti as a meal for an at home dinner. Therefore, I would definitely not prefer it at a wedding reception as an entree. However, if it were a different type of noodle, it could be okay. I agree with PP, it's pretty messy. Let's be honest, nobody looks cute eating spaghetti lol! Also, @mna, that is definitely a thing to try and remember!

How do you prepare a spaghetti bar? My fiancé and I are thinking of having my homemade spaghetti and chicken alfredo for ours, but do you have the sauce in one chafer dish and noodles in another or just add it all together??
