Spaghetti?

It's messy and difficult to eat, so that takes it off my list of acceptable reception food. There are plenty of other shapes of pasta that you could use instead of spaghetti.

As long as your not cooking it yourself it sounds fine to me.

Pasta is totally fine. Many people here are doing pasta bars.

Would you just be serving spaghetti? If so, then it seems cheap to me. Regardless i would go for a different pasta shape or tortelini or something

I went to a self catered lasagne reception once. They served the food out of aluminum pans and ran out of bread, lasagne, and someone ran out to buy more bottles of Pepsi halfway through. It was pretty bad. If this helps any, it was slightly on the trashy side.

No. It's too messy and not enough for an entire wedding. How about for the rehearsal dinner?

I'd probably pick a different pasta. Maybe rigatoni or ziti as they would be less messy. You could get really fancy with farfalle. But then, Id be the first one to spill sauce on my white dress.

As a guest, I would rather there be a pasta bar than just spaghetti.

I would be too afraid of any of the sauce splashing on my dress!

Spaghetti sauce with a different noodle? With that said, yes, spaghetti is messy but Spaghetti is delicious and if Spaghetti is what you want for your wedding there is NOTHING wrong with it and definitely not trashy. It's your day...you do you.

Nothing wrong with that. We are having soul food and then spagetti and chicken tenders for kids. Its your wedding. I love spaghetti so I would be super happy at your wedding!

I love spaghetti.....but too messy for the reception dinner I'm afraid.

Pasta is great I just lean towards a cleaner one, but I love pasta stuff.

I agree with @Celia. The two weddings that I was in we had spaghetti & a salad for the rehearsal dinner.
