How many guests do you plan on inviting to the wedding? What are you looking for capacity wise in a venue?

I do not know too much about ranch/woodsy venues but i went to the carlsbad flower fields a couple months ago and they had a barn there that people have weddings in and it was nice. that might not be ranch or woodsy though. just the idea of being in the carlsbad flower fields is already stunning so you can imagine how beautiful the wedding photos would be.

What part of SoCal? I know of a place in Moorpark (just north of LA county) but I'm not sure if you're looking for something further south.

My friend got married there and it was gorgeous! And I believe it's in-house catering but their food was really good, and I'm pretty sure you can bring in your own alcohol which saves $$. Their pricing is all listed on their website so you can check if it's within budget.
