Ladies I could really use some advice. My wedding dress situation has been unbelievably chaotic 🤦🏼♀️ so long story (kinda) short. I ordered my dress 5 months ago, the bridal store was acting pretty suspicious about when the dress would arrive and at one point they told me late August. (Our wedding is August 30) So I ended up going to another bridal store who sold the same designer to see if they could help me get some info on my dress. In the meantime they suggested I look for a backup gown Incase it didn’t arrive. I found one, some girl had the same measurements as me ordered it and decided she didn’t want it. My first gown finally showed up but had rips and snags all through It, It also did not fit right at all. The owner kept trying to convince me it was "normal" to have tears in the dress and refused to do anything, until I called the designer and complained. That's when bridal store #1 (painfully) offered cutting the sample size gown (size 10) to a size 4. I know it can be done but I'm really afraid by doing that will ruin the dress since the dress has a lot of detail to it. Has anyone else had a detailed dress altered before, What was your experience like? Also the seamstress from the first store is claiming she can do those alterations in a day which doesn't seem possible. I've just had so much frustration with Bridal store #1 I don't know if I can trust them. Bridal store #2 has been wonderful and has really helped me out through this whole ordeal, They are holding the other gown for me until Tuesday. Ladies please give me some advice. Here are the pictures of the gowns. Gown #1 is the lace/beaded detail. Gown #2 is the one with the illusion bodice.
