Seriously Ellen, please talk to us then, if this is a major concern for you. And what exactly is the concern? That your FH is blowing your wedding budget on some freaking cards? Or that he's better at the game then you are & you're being a sore loser?

Well sorry. This thread has become a very negative environment and I don't really want to deal with everyone's nonsense right now.

And yes, this is about him blowing our wedding budget on cards. He's always wanted to play Vintage but the cards are just so expensive. Any competitive decklist contains cards like Mind Sculptor and Black Lotus, which makes complete decks cost upwards of a few thousand dollars. I really love him, but I feel he's become too obsessed with the game.

Agreed with mb...I'm sorry to say that if you love him and he chooses To spend funds on a game, then you and the wedding are clearly not as important to him as it should be. Stand up for yourself

I'm sorry you feel like it's a negative environment, Ellen. I'm sure no one meant to troll you. Please tell us more about your problem so we can help you. I really hope you decide to stick around because WW is actually a really helpful, positive forum, even if it doesn't seem like it right now.

As for everyone else, seriously guys, try to be a bit nicer. New users change their names and avatars. It happens. And it's not really clear at first glance how you can set up an account for a FH. Maybe that's why the name changed to John? I'm just saying think about other possibilities before you start making fun of people and screaming troll. :/

OP, surely you can understand why people are having a difficult time believing you are honestly a bride when you repeatedly change your name. If people knew you were a "real" bride or if you would respond to our questions (which would help to show us that this is serious for you), then I guarantee that the environment would be much less "negative".

Ok, first of all how old is your FH? Because if he is putting "games" before you then he isn't old enough to be saying I. Do.

Second if he took money that was marked for your wedding for a stupid game then he isn't mature enough to get married.

Did you and FH talk this through before he bought the card or was it a surprise? If you guys didn't talk it through, then you two need to talk about it now. Marriage is a lot of give and take and meeting on middle ground. Any financial decisions should be made together whether it be hobby related or not. Everyone makes mistakes, and rash decisions, I'm guilty of that myself. My FH spent wedding money on something trivial as well. The only thing that you can to from this point is talk it out with him.

Oh, and I just have to say it: I love Magic the Gathering and would appreciate it if you don't bash the game. Is her FH being immature? Yes. Does that mean my favorite card game is stupid? No. Sorry just a pet peeve...
