Smart Save - DIY Wedding Favors

TrudiAnn, on March 31, 2021 at 3:13 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 1 26
Any other brides decide on making their own favors for their wedding? I’m having a small intimate ceremony about 25 people and I’m picky so I decided to pick the items my fiancée and I agreed on and make souvenirs myself. My weddings two years out so I’m trying to cut on cost where I can.

We are making boxes of our favorite candy to use as placecards. Not expensive at all

We’re making our own! We love Christmas, so they’re little wood disk ornaments Smiley smile it’s from a tree we cut down ourselves and we’re sanding them down, staining them, and stamping them with our wedding ‘logo’ that we’ve used everywhere.
Original plan was filling glass ornaments with charms and sparkles but the tree happened to be perfect.
My co-worker did little s’mores packs. My aunt had a painting party for her bridesmaids and they painted little pots- those were given out with a seed packet as favors.

We really saved on favors since we're not having any lol! it's great that you have 2 years. we also had plenty time (a year 5 months) so what I did is save things I liked on etsy and amazon and other sites and waited for them to go on sale.

I'm with Biaani - we aren't doing them, so we saved tons!

My sister in law did succulents as her favors. I think she went to a local greenery and bought them for fairly inexpensive!

I'm with Biaani. We saved on favors by just skipping them. Unless they're edible, most get left behind anyway.

We are getting married outdoors, so I ordered a 1/2lb bag of pollinator mix wild flower seeds, coin envelops and a custom rubber stamp with our names and wedding date. Took me about an hour to stamp, fill & seal 100 pouches. I think the total cost of the seeds, envelops and custom stamp was about $40.

Skip the favors. I've been to weddings where no one even touches the candy favors.

Your idea for your favors are well thought out. At first I just started looking through the gift store and then the more I searched the more it came to me. Our wedding is on a yacht so we decided on a mini chest with these lollipopsSmart Save - DIY Wedding Favors 1

, a ship wheel magnet with our names, customized shot glass, and a anchor inspired bottle opener.🤗

I love that us soon to be brides are focused on what makes our heart happy and not what everyone else wants. That can really add stress to planning. 😫

I decided to go with simple things that can be used every day. I’m not one for edible favors. I prefer a keepsake!

My mom stitched cute little boxes and it has some candy and photobooth strips holder. It didn’t cost very much. Candy in bulk on oriental trading

I’m big on keepsakes so we did inexpensive ones.
