Small wedding this year, big wedding next year

I've seen a lot of people on the forum say that they are having a small wedding this year and hosting a bigger celebration after the pandemic. I am hoping to do the same, and I am trying to figure out how many people to invite to each. How many are you all inviting to this year's small event? What about next year's?

    We’re having 5-6 for the smaller “elopement” and then 25-30 for our “big” celebration next year.
