small mason jars? Cheapest place to find them in bulk?

kelli, on August 26, 2017 at 6:05 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 45

Planning on doing my Great Aunt's homemade moonshine at each table setting as a favor, but don't want to do HUGE jars. Everything I've found is super expensive. I would be okay with even doing plastic jars or other forms of packaging. Has anyone come across anything in bulk that might work?

You can try target or walmart online for the mason jars in bulk of 12. They are usually about 6-8 dollars. We just got some of the quilted mason jars for our wedding favors from there. Good luck!

Also try thrift shopping or watch online for deals. There's a lot of wedding or regular buy/sell groups that you join on Facebook you may be able to find them cheaper!

Canning season is in full swing right now so they should be available at a lot of places. If you have a Big Lots by you they are usually the cheapest. Walmart always has them though they are more expensive. I would also suggest getting them before September is over. They can be hard to find and more expensive once canning season is done they are not stocked as much since they are a seasonal item.

I found all mine on sale at Meijer, but Wal-mart had them at a good price too.

If you're ok with plastic and need bulk... check out:

I think the website is jarstore.com. Google something like that and it will pop up.

I have a bunch just from saving jars from jarred products like jelly, pasta sauce, pickles. I've also found some cool glasses from rummage/garage sales.

Also check out craft stores like Michael's, especially when there's a big sale. I think President's Day is one of their big ones, the whole store is something crazy like 60-70% off.

Michael's usually has sales and coupons at the same time that you can overlap. Standard sized mason jars are $1-$1.25 without any extra coupons or discounts. They have huge ones and ity bity ones. If there isn't one around you, I've ordered online from them before and free shipping is a common occurrence. Sign up for their website/emails and you will get more coupons than you know what to do with. I paid about $1.50 a bag for these sea glass looking pieces to use as filler that were originally $8-$9 a bag. Since your wedding is in the spring, you have some time to shop sales and compare prices. Good luck!
