I'm not too sure there are very many promise rings on here because the majority of posters are currently engaged or married. It's a beautiful ring though! Happy planning! Oh and can I ask if you're waiting to become engaged after you are able to walk?

Oh, okay. I figured maybe if any girls got a promise ring, but all the hype and attention has been on their engagement ring that they would want a place to show off the pre-engagement ring.

The doctors were going to break my pelvis and rebuild it, but as of yesterday it was declared I do not need that surgery! Woo! Shorter recovery with whatever surgery they will do.

I really am annoyed by being in my chair, and would like to feel like I can have a normal engagement and wedding day. You know?

I got a promise ring back around my 6 month anniversary, I still wear it on my right hand! It was really sweet, and nice to know we were in it for the long haul. Also my DH just kind of wanted an excuse to get me some nicer jewelry and liked the idea of a promise ring.

Pretty ring! I don't have a photo to share, but this post made me remember that I was wearing my promise ring on my left hand the day that FH proposed. I wonder what the heck I did with it? I guess in the shock of the moment I just quickly took it off and put it on my right hand? Hmm...lol. Are you thinking your boyfriend is planning to propose soon?

I don't have anything against him proposing now. We are just waiting until I can walk down the aisle to set the wedding date for sure. We've been planning for quite some time now.

Gotcha. Just seemed strange to wait for the proposal part and your date on your profile is under a year away. It's nice to have this day to look forward to so you can keep your spirits up. Sounds like it'll be soon.

I also have a promise ring.. I got it at around 10.5 months being together (New Year's) - back in 2006. Currently, I don't fit in that ring anymore - I have to get it resized.. but I'm hoping if I lose a little weight, I won't have to resize it. Right now, it's around a necklace that FH gave me, so it hangs on my neck every day.

I don't have a picture of mine and I'm too lazy to get up and go find it, but DH gave me a promise ring when we were 18. We started dating our freshman year of high school and then he went off to college in San Luis Obispo (about 2 1/2 hours away) and I stayed in Fresno for college. We switched off visiting each other every other weekend the first year, and by our second year it was every weekend so he transferred to Fresno. We lived in Fresno in the same student housing apartment complex for a year before he proposed. I wanted to put the small stone from my promise ring into DH's band but it was too expensive. :/

That's a huge ring for a promise ring! Beautiful! I didn't get a promise ring... I got a promise house. Then again, we were in the house for 2 months before we were engaged...
