Here’s ours! The cake topper was my grandparents’

I am going more of this route as I think it is modern but has a touch of elegance. May do butter cream roses instead.

Yeah we won't do fondant. I love the semi naked and want to try one but not sure that style fits the theme I am most going for. I think it is best suited for rustic but it is cute. i would have gotten one but FH said it looks like someone just did not finish ha ha.

What flavor did you guys go with? We are thinking about doing each tier a different flavor but might be too many options... Not too sure.

View Quoted Comment We did vanilla cake, only because our cake was also gluten/dairy free because of my allergies, and the gluten free vanilla cake is like by far better than all the other flavors, so that was an easy choice.


For frosting we WANTED to do a layer of mocha and a layer of dark chocolate raspberry (our cake baker said he couldn’t do different flavors in different tiers for some reason, but that he could do 2 different fillings in each, if that makes sense?) But anyway they messed up and ended up giving us one layer of dark chocolate and the other raspberry-mocha. Still delicious, but my husband was/still is salty about it lmao.

Oh nooo!!! And that definitely doesn't make any sense why it would have to be one flavor lol. We are thinking white with a Bavarian cream with strawberry puree in one tier. A chocolate with chocolate mousse in another. Then a Almond with amaretto mousse or a pink champagne flavor cake.

Our cake is essentially going to look like this! She hasn’t given me her exact sketch yet but this design is pretty close. Here’s our cake topper too.

Ours will somewhat look like the gray cake but with all white flowers and piping details.

This is the inspiration picture we gave our bakery. We were originally just going to do the single tier cutting cake, but ended up winning our cake, so it’ll now be a full 4 tier. The picture will be the top tier (strawberry cake with raspberry jam and cream cheese frosting) and the other tiers will just be semi-naked with the gold foil. Florist will add flowers all around. Bottom and 3rd tiers will be a marble cake with whipped cream frosting and the 2nd tier will be vanilla with whipped cream frosting (my FH is super plain when it comes to cake, and since I got to design the outside, I gave him the flavor choices. Top tier flavor he gave back to me, however.)

I really like this semi-naked cake, Jordan! The flowers are a nice addition also
