Should my Wedding Invitations match with my Wedding colors?

I can only speak from my experiences, that alot of brides order their invitations to match their wedding colors. But then again, this is your wedding so do what makes you happy.

I have always seen brides match with their wedding colors however I have seen alot of people just finding something they like or something that represents them. Do what ever you like there are no rules to weddings!

If you don't find the colors try the theme

I thought, and I really could be wrong, that the reason behind having invitations in your color theme was to kind of inform people what colors NOT to wear to the wedding... or did I just dream that? LOL

I used to think that the invite would or should have SOME hint of what your colors are.. its sort of a sneak peek for your guests. However, I went with more of a "themed" invite, its a Damask print invite but its not in my colors, however, the colors are similar

To clarify: my invites are an ecru (light beige color) background with a light blue (robins eggish) damask print over it. My wedding colors are black/white and a teal color (DBs Oasis)

My wedding color is dusty rose....pink really.... so my invitation is white with pink lettering

Can you do the black and white with a red ribbon? A splash of your color, but not overwhelming?

My colors include black and white- and I'm crazy about some black and white invites myself.

Mine aren't matching... we have four wedding colors! So that would be a pain to match... We just picked white and blue.
