Emily, on April 10, 2012 at 10:16 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 11

So long story short me and my boyfriend have been planning to get married but he recently decided to join the airforce and im very proud of him but now because of that we decided to get married sooner then originally planned haha i dont mind cuz im not really into wedding planning anyway so were just going to have a very small wedding. a few months ago i tried on this prom dress at debs and it fit me PERFECTLY and it made me feel so pretty haha Smiley smile since our wedding is going to be small and we cant afford a lot i was thinking why not just buy this prom dress and where it for my wedding dress..i dont want to look stupid though haha so i need more opinions. anyway here is a link to the dress... (to be honest i actually think the dress looks better on me haha ..i dont really like how it looks in this picture so just tell me if you think the dress could work for a wedding dress)

I think the dress could work for a wedding dress. It really just depends on your personality. My personality would most definitely not pull that dress off. It also depends on how much the dress is, if that dress is just as much as a wedding dress then you may still want to look at wedding dresses. Hope this advice helps.

There are some prettier dresses at David's Bridal for a little cheaper than that dress is... You don't want to look like you are going to prom on your WEDDING day...

It's not my style, but if it makes you happy, go for it.

Color wise it could work. I would rather see it on you. I would say in the pic it does say prom to me. but if you love it you will look like a bride.

I had a friend that bought a bm dress for her Las Vegas wedding, and my mom bought her dress from a store that was the equivalent to Hot Topic 30 years ago (great dress by the way), so its definetly okay to wear what you feel most comfortable in, with that said I'd still recommend hunting around a little bit just to make sure you're not just buying it because it fits well =).

I agree with the above posters. I think a pic of you in the dress would help us have a better idea. There are places you can get dresses cheaper. (my dress is from coming from lightinthebox.com and is cheaper.)

I happen to like the dress in general. It has kind of a whimsical, almost fairy like feel that I think would look amazing in an outdoor setting.

At the end of the day if the dress makes you feel pretty and like a bride (and is in budget of course) it should be your wedding dress.

I think color wise it could work depending on your wedding style but do agree with Christina W. that you can find a dress at David's Bridal for cheaper that you may be happier with. They seem to always be having a sale. If you are unsure of the dress keep looking around, just be honest about your budget and check out some local shops or "recycled" gowns. You might be able to find something you love without breaking the bank.

If you like it, go with it! I personally wouldn't recommend David's Bridal, just from mine and my friends' experiences, but if you find something you like, go for it. I actually think the dress is very pretty and you could probably just add some accessories if you wanted to dress it up a little to make it more "bridal"
