Should i postpone my fl wedding a second time

Mariah, on July 2, 2020 at 1:15 PM Posted in Florida Planning 0 5
Hi,
My original wedding date was May 9th but due to the pandemic we changed it to August 1st... we live in FL and all my guest are located in FL as well. That being said, I’m concerned with the current rise of COVID cases. Would you postpone a second time or wait it out?

Hi Mariah! This is such a tough decision. Smiley heart Have you gotten a recent update from your venue?

I've seen lots of couples decide to go ahead with their summer weddings - even if there are guest list restrictions or strict social distancing guidelines - and I've also seen lots of couples reschedule for 2021! It really depends on your personal situation and priorities!

Here are a few conversations you can join with other August brides to get a better sense of what everyone's doing: August 2020, Upcoming weddings, and August Weddings, are you requiring people to wear masks to your reception?

I would not postpone again. I am in Tampa Bay and according to the governor they do not plan to go into lockdown but I would say think of your safety and your guests. Also, to me the big thing is marrying your hubby even if that is with only a few guests. I would just plan as normal and if anything have a back up plan with less guests in case more restrictions are in play. Honestly, it seems like Florida does not want to shut things down but I would encourage masks or social distancing maybe and extra hand sanitizer. Good luck and since you are one month out I think you are okay.

My sister postponed for a third time, March to May to January 2021. But she ended up getting legally married in May with 14 guests, and the big party is in Janary with allllll of her guests.

If you don't feel comfortable having a wedding in August go ahead and get married. Have a get-together next year with family and friends. Postponing will cause more unnecessary stress cause by such of an unpredictable pandemic .
