I need help with this one. I'm Colombian and in my tradition there is a alcoholic beverage called aguardiente (you drink it as a shot). There is very little "colombian" in the wedding, it's mostly Italian (my fh is Italian) and I kind of wanted to incorporate this drink but I dont know how. Should I put a little bottle on each table with a little thank you tag? should I have them bring out little shots and have everyone do one? Should I just forget about it? What do I do? Oh and P.S. my FMIL makes a face every time we bring it up which probably means she doesnt like the idea...

Go for it! Don't worry about her scrunching up her face. It's part of your culture. You could have your MC or someone in your wedding party tell about the tradition and everyone use this as a toast.

I think it'll be great! Maybe she's worried people won't understand it, in which case you could always attach a tag explaining the tradition? Just a thought. But definitely stick to your guns on this one!

She is Italian right? Has she never heard of Grappa? Go for it girl if you and FS or your parents are paying for it I think that what you are suggesting as a toast or laid out nicely on the table wiht an explaniation on the table then you are good to go. No worries, let's be honest everyone is there to celebrate your marriage and love so bring it on!

Well if it's tacky, then we were SUPER tacky, we not only had shots of Sambuca (it's an Italian thing) but shots of Patron and Lemon Drops...lol. None of our friends thought it was tacky and they cleared us out of the Patron before the night was over...lol.
