Shot glass favors at a non alcoholic wedding??

Savannah, on July 25, 2009 at 6:09 PM Posted in Planning 0 12

Would it be weird to have shot glasses as favors for guests when we arent having any alcohol other than the champagne toast?? I want to do champagne glasses as favors but they are just so much money...Plus the shot glasses dont go with our medieval/ renaissance-ish theme.

It is your choice, however if you went as a guest would you find it odd. I personally might question it as a guest, however I would also think it was their choice.

As the pp said, it's your wedding so do whatever you want. I would also agree that if I was a guest I would be kind of confused if I received a shot glass but there was no alcohol at the reception. Here's a link I found to some ideas for renaissance-themed favors, many of which you can do yourself. Good luck!

Yeah I would probably think it was weird, but it depends on your guests. If you know they will use the shot glass a lot afterward it might be worth it. If you decide to get them, I am ordering my shot glasses from here http://www.logobarproducts.com

I am getting 250 of them for under $150 including shipping, and I was able to upload our wedding logo from the invites & website onto the shot glass so it matched our theme. You could do something similar so they don't seem out of place. They also have 15oz glasses for 79 cents each that might make more sense to your guests.

Probably not a good idea - it's adding insult to injury...just kidding! But I would not do it.

Put a small votive candle in the glasses and it's now a candle holder! Or fill them with candy....I've also seen the tall shot glasses used as bid vases

Well if you are having a medevil theme then go w/ a gift that fits that. It is a little bit weird to have shot glasses at a non alcohol wedding but really its what you feel is best and makes you happy. I am not really into party favors so our guests are going home w/ little 4x6 photo albums. Smiley smile Good luck on your search.

    Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!

How about a champagne glass, that is a gel candle? These favors come elegantly wrapped and might be just what you are looking for.

Take a look at our website, under champagne gel candle:

    Hope this helps!

Thats what I thought too. So, after thinking about it and talking to the FH, we've decided against the shot glasses. Opting for something a lil less expensive yet till pretty cool. 100 silk drawstring bags (3x4in)-50 black & 50 red- and putting those gold chocolate coins into them and putting them at each seat. Hopefully ppl will like them. Thanx girls
