I just got these really cute dress for my bridal shower. Being plus sized my thighs tend to rub together and after a while it because uncomfortable. Does anyone have recommend of what to do about this? My coworker suggested get shorts to wear underneath but wasn't sure where to buy them from.

From one thick girl to another... I never go without shorts under any dress I wear. When I wear maxi dresses I wear leggins under them. Spanx are awesome but are also SUPER HOT!!!! I suggest shorts. I got to Walmart and by there workout shorts in the mid thigh range. They are cheap, like 5-9 each, they are breathable, last forever, and they come in a lot of colors! Oh and the best part, they have plus sizes. I suggest whatever you get make sure it is fitting. If you buy the shorts too loose they just ride up when you want and they serve no purpose.

They also make petti slips. They are like old-fashioned skirt silky slips (does anyone else remember wearing those?) but they are loose shorts. I like those when wearing a maxi dress because they are not binding at all. But may not be the best choice under such a short dress. I've bought Spanx over and over until I finally learned my lesson. 2 things always happen: 1. they run like pantyhose, leaving me with the biscuit-can like bulge in the thigh. And the bottoms roll up, and I have to keep pulling them down, which is not that attractive.

I love Body Glide - starting using it for running, but my friend & I will be using it with bachelroette dresses next weekend.

Also, I found these things called bandelettes - they're kind of like 6" garters that prevent chub rub. I haven't worn them myself but have heard great things!

I have the same issue. I never.. NEVER!!!! wear a skirt or dress without something under. last year I found this item at Macy's and I have like 4 pairs. they are a life saver.... plus this way when the breeze kicks up I have nothing to worry about.

I found a really nice, light pair of spanx that I wore for my wedding. I bought them from Von Maur, but I would think any high-end department store would carry them.
