I just got these really cute dress for my bridal shower. Being plus sized my thighs tend to rub together and after a while it because uncomfortable. Does anyone have recommend of what to do about this? My coworker suggested get shorts to wear underneath but wasn't sure where to buy them from.

As many have said -- I wear bike shorts under most dresses, and then deodorant allll up and down my thighs. Body glide fo sho, but I just find deodorant easier due to laziness. I saw on like etsy or something that they actually make lace thigh cuff things for this exact reason... I wasn't sure if that would also be uncomfortable though? And how long do they go because thighs go from crotch to knee so I would want them to be long enough to actually help, but not long enough to show... I'll stick with shorts and deodorant for now I guess =)

I used Silky Underwear from Lush to help when I was country dancing. It helped with chaffing, smelled amazing and left my skin feeling brilliant.

I must be doing something wrong, everytime I used deodorant, it was just a mess and didn't work for long. What brands are you guys using?

I do like the skimmies though, it gives me a bit more confidence in case something is riding up.

Spanks are great, but I found those guys underwear that are kind of like biking shorts to fit better and they last longer.

corn starch is also something I put on my skin when I'm worried about chafing.

Just don't get white! Nude or tan is the best. Nothing shows more than white under white, except maybe neon or black Smiley winking

Spanx, band aid friction stick and deodorant on the thighs are my go tos... Sometimes I want the spanxs for the extra support. But if you don't need the extra layer go with deodorant or the friction sticks.

Dove deodorant - as long as it's one of the "gofresh" ones. I ran a 5K with that on my thighs and there was no chafing. My lifesaver!!

Dove solid antiperspirant (with moisturizing cream) is the best!

BodyGlide works beautifully, too, but in summer I prefer the Dove because it also stops sweat and keeps you feeling fresh. Also, Dove can be found in Travel Size in nearly every drugstore in the US I've been to and that means you can carry a baby one in your purse for 'touchups' if you're going to be out all day.

That said, that dress looks VERY short when you sit down - make sure you test it out on a couch, a chair, etc. and you may *need* shapewear. Lane Bryant sells Spanx in Plus Size, but you can also find "Assets" at Target - Sara Blakely's cheaper line (not as silky as Spanx, but same control). They're about half the price of regular Spanx and work just as well. Cacique also makes some better-priced ones.

The only reason I suggest against running shorts is that they usually are black or bright colors, and you need nude/beige color under a white dress.

Dude, deodorant between the thighs?!? The curvy struggle has been real for SO LONG. So much painful chafing, ugh. Can't believe I'm just now learning this. So glad for this thread!

Making a note about Dove deodorant right now! Also Soma makes great "shorts" that are really sheer. My daughter has them in nude.

I swear by Monistat chafing gel. I'm a server and it gets hot and my thighs start to rub. It only takes a little bit to prevent it but I slather it on. It doesn't feel gross after its dry or anything!

As a marathon runner who constantly fights chafing, I do use Body Glide, but TriGlide works the best. It is awesome! But I also have a serious investment in spandex shorts. I prefer UnderArmour over Nike, in a jam I'll buy Adidas.

I don't like wearing shorts under my dresses but I bought this product and it is amazing. I had stopped wearing dresses and skirts because all the city walking made it impossible but I almost never have an issue now. The one I have is a CVS brand but isn't sold online. This is the same product just a different brand.

SPANX!!! They have saved my thighs and they smooth out the curves. I have never tried chafing cream but that can help as well.

I bought the same dress to change in to during the reception!!!!! Nice choice!

Since you already went to Torrid, they have a really nice pair of shorts that will work

I have a go-to pair of bike shorts that I wear under dresses.

I use deodorant. I find that sometimes with a short dress, my "short" spanx rise up my thigh, defeating the purpose of the spanx. BUT I swear by deodorant to prevent any chaffing. I use it when i go running with shorts and whenever I wear dresses.

@tara, great minds think a like. I was planning on wearing it for the fh also. I'll check those shorts out.

Thank you everyone that posted. I will look up all the recommendations. I normally do use deodorant or baby powder but want to see if shorts would be a better option

Spanx is what I thought of too. They shouldn't change the fit of your dress, they aren't that good haha! They just smooth you out a bit and seeing as it's an A-line dress you won't notice. Depending on how the shorts are they could give you some weird lines and extra bulk. Spanx are designed to go under clothing so that's my best recommendation Smiley smile
