bina1015, on July 17, 2015 at 3:28 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 46

I just got these really cute dress for my bridal shower. Being plus sized my thighs tend to rub together and after a while it because uncomfortable. Does anyone have recommend of what to do about this? My coworker suggested get shorts to wear underneath but wasn't sure where to buy them from.

I would say spanks or, my go to, spandex workout shorts. I probably wear them more under dresses than I do to workout. Plus, thanks to the rise of CrossFit and other spandex-y sports, they come in all colors now!

If you can get ahold of between the sheets from pure romance it does wonders for the chub rub

Jockey makes little underwear shorts that also act like spanx, just not as tight.

I wear shorts under dresses all the time. I work out in spandex/bicycle shorts (long kind, not the booty kind) and they eliminate any chub rub. I just wear those, but I'd stick to a lighter color (lightest I have is light gray) under a white dress.

Bike shorts in a light color if you can find them or shapewear like Spanx although it can be a less expensive brand and work fine. I learned the bike shorts thing from a friend a few years ago and it is a life (thigh) saver!

This sounds really weird but deodorant can help with that. It does wonders when I go for long runs in shorts.

Spanx definitely or bike shorts if you don't want actual shapewear!

Or they make gels that you can use to prevent the chafing. Sometimes deodorant even works.

Thanks ladies! I didn't want to wear spanx if possible because the dress fits me perfectly.

Use Body Glide and you won't need shorts...you can find it in most sporting goods stores. I used to use it all the time when I ran alot...and have used it for inner thigh rub too. No color, no scent, sweat proof...it's in an applicator that looks like deodorant.

I swear on skimmies by Jockey. They are soft and not as restrictive as spanx. They just came out with lots of new colours and moisture wicking ones: http://www.jockey.com/savedbyskimmies

I use tight sports shorts from NIKE, kind of like bike shorts. They are comfortable and long enough that they don't roll up.

Maybe try dance shorts. I love them, they are so comfortable. I know a lot of girls in color guard wore them like Spanx to keep their legs from chafing. They are made by different people but a popular brand is Marcca active wear.

I use Deoderant not only does it help with "chub rub" it also makes me smell good. I'm paranoid about smelling any place I have my vanilla for my underarms and tropical paradise for my inner thighs

I wear bike shorts under most dresses because I have the rub as well. I got some from Old Navy and like, Marshalls. As long as they are short enough to not peek out the bottom of your dress, but long enough to cover your thighs, you're good to go. I've also heard good things about Bandelettes.

Chafing cream works wonders. They sell it on Amazon. It's used for cyclists, but I wear it anytime I'm in a dress

I literally always wear spandex shorts under skirts and dresses. To work, church, to go out, everywhere lol. You can buy them at any dance/athletics store. Or- spanx! Any department store, kohls, etc.
