Shopping for a Wedding Planner/coordinator - What should i ask?

EmeraldBride, on June 18, 2020 at 11:16 AM Posted in Planning 0 8

So I have found a couple of planners/coordinators who I am going to meet up over the next week. I need one to keep my sanity. I've only been engaged for 2 weeks and I am already obsessed with wedding planning. I definitely want one who can help with decor. How did you decide who to go with? What kinds of questions did you ask them? I will post links of the ones I am considering:

Bashes by Barbie - 2 of my cousins had her and loved her - she comes with a huge warehouse full of decorations to choose from. $$$ but worth it to them. $4000 for full service, but she offers other bundles.

W.E.D. - includes planning, decor services, DJ services, photobooth. I can use them a la carte or all of their services. Full package (planning, decor, DJ, photobooth) is $3300 - but can be customized.

1945 Events - full service for just $1945 flat rate - planning and decor included.

What do you think?

Wow the WED one sounds really awesome if that's all the stuff you want and is within budget.

Last year I was doing exactly that. I think you’ll know when you feel like you are talking to your best friend. The first agency I spoke with reminded me of talking with my students. While the professional and respect was sincere I was cringing every time she said “yes Ms, we also... yes Ms we provide.. yes ma’am ...🥴

The second lady prided on the fact that the majority of her accounts were $40,000 affairs after I told her my budget. I informed her that she would be bored with my wedding and we parted ways.
And my girl now, when we spoke I fell in love. We clicked immediately. She’s been to my house for dinner, we’ve gone to women’s events together and she keeps me sane! I’ve entertained her kids, while she handled the dirty work. We talk life and forget we are planning a wedding. You’ll know when you get that vibe of “we are going to be BFF’sfor life!!!” Good luck to you!

1945 sounds great off the bat with that price especially for full planning services but I feel W.E.D. would be your best bet. It includes a lot more and if you got with either of the other two, you'd probably end up paying even more once you add the other vendors that W.E.D. is already offering. My vote is for W.E.D.

I LOVE THAT! I am really glad that I am interviewing at least a couple to decide who gets ME and my wedding vision. I hope that I have as much success as you did!

All of these are within my budget - I don't really need a photobooth, but it could be fun! I figure, it's gonna keep me mentally sane so it will be worth it. I am all for no bridezilla on my wedding day! haha.
