My FH had just moved in with me and he got really sick, so sick he was physically green. ER doctors didn't think it was urgent but turns out his appendix had ruptured and sepsis was starting to set in. He had a 17% chance of survival.
It was a rough couple of weeks in the hospital. He was laying in the bed and watching t.v. when he just looked over at me and said "Almost dying really scared me.... Because I would have left you all alone. We're getting married."
Makes me cry remembering it. Not how I would have pictured my proposal and it wasn't what he was planning but he thought it was now or never.

My husband was new to the area and I had lived in the area my entire life. He was asking me about prks in the area and saying that we should go exploring. We had decided to go the following Saturday. All week he kept talking about it and I was just like what's the big deal we aren't even outside people. That Saturday he was up before me, that never happens. He woke me up telling me to go shower and get ready. It was 90 degrees out and my idea of getting ready to go walk around a park was to throw on some clothes and put my hair in a ponytail. He insisted that I shower and do my hair and makeup because we would also go out to lunch. I humored him but I was annoyed because I knew I would be hot and sweaty. We walked around looking at the flowers and walked down a quiet trail into the woods. We sat down on a bench and we're talking for a long time when he pulled out the ring and got on one knee. He asked me and I said I love you and kissed him. He asked me if I was going to answer him. I thought I had but I guess I didn't. Of course I said yes and kissed him again.

Wow that is scary and what a wake up call! I actually just had pneumonia and sepsis and spent Thanksgiving week in the hospital so I get what a big deal that was! So glad he recovered and it led to your proposal. Congrats!

This is too funny and describes how I would have reacted too! Walking in a park in 90 degree weather is definitely not something to get all dressed up for!

Phantom of the Opera is my FAVORITE Broadway show, and we had tickets to see it when it was touring in Tampa last February. We went to a nice brunch, and then he suggested we walk along the river near the performing arts center while waiting for the show to start. He asked while we were walking along the river! (Obviously I had no clue because I had an atrocious band-aid on my finger! Lol)

He proposed dec 23rd 2018
it was the first Christmas we both didn’t have our kids so he wanted to take me to go see snow ( I had never seen snow) and have a white Christmas. He told me he had planned a horse drawn sleigh ride. Fast forward to the day of , we are getting ready and he tells me we should dress in our new fancy coats he got us for the trip so we got ready and headed to the sleigh ride along the way we stopped to look at horses and were running late , when he tells me the guy is texting him that he needed to push it back and we were fine . We finally get there and we are waiting for the last ride to get back , they finally do and the people get off and there’s a photographer with them too she said she was with the farm and was taking pictures for the website and they asked if we minded if she came along so we (I) agreed. We start going and we get to the top of the mountain and the driver is telling us how it’s a great photo op and that’s where he wants to build his house so we get off to take in the view and he starts telling me how he really is the man who has it all ( he really does and it’s impossible to buy him gifts for any occasion) “except one thing” and that was me as his wife that’s when he turned around and got down on one knee and I saw the ring in his shaking hands and the photographer run over and take pics as he asked me if I would be his wife , of course I said yes
the. He told me he had hired the photographer and she was there to do a photo shoot (he had payed for her and her bf to go on the ride the week before and pick a spot and for the ride before ours so I wouldn’t get suspicious as well as ours of course)

Oh my! I love this story! He was very meticulous in his planning - even paying the photographer to take the ride the week before to find the perfect spot!
