"sexy" wedding dresses

Chivy, on April 27, 2017 at 11:02 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 148

A lot of the dresses I've seen posted here are pretty modest and traditional. What style of dress do you plan to wear? And have you ever been to a wedding where the bride was wearing a "sexy" dress? If so, what was the reaction?

I can't add pics to my original post. But these are kind of what I have in mind when I say sexy

I personally don't want to have multiple lace cutouts and stuff but I will have a backless dress so to each its own. I don't think anything is wrong with it per say just a matter of what you feel comfortable in

They are beautiful. It just depends on the type of wedding your having and if you, your FH and family are normally conservative or not.

I've also seen some with high slits or deep v necks that I haven't saved to reference now. My FH feels they are inappropriate.

The grandparents would have heart attacks! Lol my back has cutouts and the dress has a full skirt. My grandmother specifically asked me to not have a butt hugging dress. So I did not get one. I feel like those are a little much for me! My FH would probably not be a fan either hahaha, but to each their own!

I would do one or the other. Either have a deep back, a deep v or lace cut outs. I think combining them is a lot, but I am also very modest in my attire.

Keisha I agree, that doing them all may be too much but I think you could mix 2 to make it nice. Example a deep v and deep back or high slit and deep back

Red that was very sweet of you to consider your grandmother's feelings when picking out your dress.

I personally would do a deep back and fitted. If you are curvy fitted can really amp up the sex appeal. If I wasn't going the fitted route them I would combine two aspects

I tried this on recently and definitely felt sexy. I'm debating on whether I want fitted or sheath. My venue is pretty casual, so I don't want to go overboard.

ETA: I definitely agree than confidence is sexy. Sexy doesn't mean the same thing for everyone, so wear something that makes you feel confident and good in your own skin. I'm wearing a dress with sleeves, because I'm self conscious about the skin on my arms and don't want to be thinking about that on my wedding day. If the "sex appeal" makes you self conscious, don't do it. The most important thing is that you feel beautiful, confident, and stoked to be married.

I agree with FB99 confidence is sexy. What's not sexy is overdoing it simply for the thrill factor. With that said, all of the dresses are beautiful not everyone can pull of the look though. It's your wedding day, wear what you want. I personally would also take my venue into consideration when choosing my attire. Some things are inappropriate for a traditional church ceremony.

I think at some point it becomes a distraction.

That's a great dress Kayla. That's a good point tho. I guess the dress should fit the feel of the venue. But you can always change into a reception dress also.

At least you wont be bored and not paying attention. The Ceremony tends to be the worst part of the wedding you have to admit. That is why most people skip it and only go to the reception. I think I would look more if the dress were something outrageous.

Berta Bridal and Pronovias have beautiful "sexy" dresses. If you have the body for it, go for it!

I personally find sexy dresses (as in super revealing) a bit trashy- If I were at a wedding with a bride in a skimpy dress I'd wonder why she didn't save it for the bedroom.
