Save the Dates and wedding invitations

Is it ghetto to do E-Vites? Or go to CVS or Walgreens to print these things? We have to budget as 2020 is busy for us....

A lot of people use EVites - also I’ve seen a lot of DIY invitations on here and on Pinterest! Check them out. Also a lot of companies have deals going on for the new year

We used Walgreens Save The Dates and then used Greenvelope for our online invitations. We have a small group of people who already confirmed so it didn't make sense to spend the extra money. They all turned out really nice we got tons of compliments. 😊

We used Walgreens for our STD and I absolutely love them. Nowadays lots of people do evites and shutterfly is always offering coupons if you wanted to go that route.

Thank you all. I just don’t see paying so much money on invites when everyone knows how to use their phones lol.

Since save-the-dates are optional, you could skip them entirely and/or send an email or text to make sure your VIPs know the date, or an evite STD can be fine. (A Costco photo center would be an inexpensive option to consider if you want to do hard copy STDs -- you can get 50 for as little as $14 [look under the greeting card options].)

However, for the invitations themselves, while evites are an option, it's important to understand that the invitation often plays an important role in conveying the formality of the wedding to the guests. As long as you're planning a fairly casual wedding, an evite could be great. But, if you're planning a more formal affair, guests might not pick up on that if they receive an evite. Also, there are a lot of people who might miss/ignore an evite (it could end up in a Spam folder or they might overlook it as junk mail, etc.). They are an option, but as with all things, there are potential consequences with the choice.

I don't think there is anything wrong with it! I plan to do save the dates at Walmart/Costco or one of those places and very simple invites if I do evite, I feel like some people might struggle with online invites ( like older people maybe 🙄)

I think Evite gives an option as a text link for the invite. My friend did this for her bridal shower and wedding, I worried I missed it but a few months before she asked for email and I received a text from evite to RSVP using the link, along with a email with the link.

I did a Facebook private "event" for our Save the Date to get an idea of how many people would be interested before choosing our venue, and I'm making our invites on Canva.com! You can totally design them yourself and they're not expensive to buy in bulk (23 cents per copy for 150, for example = $34.50 for 150 invites)! I'm saving hundreds of dollars that way and people will still have a physical copy they can stick on their fridge to remind them. Smiley winking

Samsclub is also an option if you or anyone you know has a card. We couldve gotten invites and save the dates ( suite) for like 150$ - 200$ for 150 invites
