Sand Ceremony Questions

Courtney, on September 23, 2019 at 6:40 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 5
I apologize in advance if some of these may be silly questions, but I am looking for advice from someone who has done a sand unity ceremony.
We are not getting married on the beach, but we are getting married outside and do not want to do the unity candles. I thought of doing the unity cross, but the sand is cheaper.
Question 1: How do the sand containers get filled before ceremony?
Question 2: Did you have a cork or something on top of containers so sand would not be lost?
Question 3: Were you worried about the wind blowing over the sand before the unity ceremony?
I am going to attach a couple of pictures I found on Etsy. Of course I like the one that is more expensive with $20 shipping costs 😂🙄. The cheaper one has corks, but the more expensive one does not.

If anyone can give me advice on this, it would be greatly appreciated!

It isnt allowing me to upload photos right now.

We did sand into an hourglass, using dollar store vases to pour into a personalized hourglass from marryme.com. I portioned out sand into sandwich bags the day before the ceremony and packed them in a box with the hourglass and pouring vases. A friend set it up prior to the ceremony. We were outside, but each pouring vase had half a pound of sand in it, so I wasn't worried. There was no cork over the pouring vases, but there was a cover for the hourglass.

I am doing a sand ceremony also. I found mine on Etsy too and only paid like $30. Actually mine is the first photo you posted! Lol

    1. They came with the same. You choose the sand colors when you order it

    2. They came with a cork to go on top.

    3. My ceremony is inside so i don’t have to worry about the wind. But depending on the season, you may be ok with the wind. Just check the weather, if it’s too windy maybe donit during the reception?

Also so i thought the heart vase that you pour it in was rather small, but depending on what you’re going for, this is a great buy! My cousin bought the second picture you posted for her wedding, it’s very nice, but I’m not sure if the sand came with hers.
