Long story short, we had SIXTEEN people RSVP yes to the wedding and then not show up. Very, very annoying. My question is, with a few of these people, I considered them close friends. One in particular, she was making a huge deal about coming and seemed very excited. She didn't show and never said a word about it, until she just invited me to her baby shower (for her third kid of the same gender within five years, but that's beside the point). Should I mention it? She never brought it up or asked how it went, but I'm sure she's busy... I don't know. I just feel a little awkward? Should I feel awkward? I don't know. :/

My cousin's wedding this weekend expected 125 people and about 90 showed up...it happens, if she's a super close friend I'd say ask if not, don't.

PS: we have the same wedding date! except mine is in 2018

Wow- a close friend ghosted on your wedding 2 MONTHS AGO and HASN'T EVEN SAID ANYTHING ABOUT IT??? I would have, soon after the wedding, brought it up. "Suzy, we missed you at the wedding! Is everything okay?"

I would definitely not be attending that shower. RSVP no, don't explain why, don't buy a gift.

I hate baby showers, but that's just me so I wouldn't go anyway. Some people just don't get it. More than likely she wouldn't understand her actions if you brought it up anyway. I wouldn't waste my time.

    Because @Stephanie,

It's her 3rd shower in 5 years for the same gender. Some might not begrudge a second shower for a different gender (but I might, mark me as petty) but 3 babies in 5 years? If someone had 3 marriages in even 10 years and had a shower for each they'd get side-eyed for sure.

Having a baby shower for every baby (3+) seems gift grabby and excessive AF. if it's becoming the norm and 'expected' it just proves the point of many surveys, articles, and statistics about society's increasing spiral of entitlement. Having a baby or 3 doesn't make the friend anymore special or make her schedule or events more important than OP.

If I were in your shoes since she was a no show without saying anything to you, I would just do the same to her. I mean seriously that's messed up. I'm sorry that you had so many people not show up.

BTE a FB invitation the week before hardly counts as a true invitation. Just sayin'
