How much is too much to ask people to spend on a hotel room? I live close to Boston, Ma and have received a quote for $219 per night plus tax for a mini suite (all rooms are suites) usual price for june is $259-299 per night plus tax. Im not sure if thats too much for a room block. I know that...

I know that obviously people dont have to use the hotel we block, but would like to make it as easy as possible and have people all in one hotel...I dont want the price to turn them off! Just looking for opinions on how much is too much!

With ours being NYE, we booked the nicest/closet hotel at 159/179 for bay front views. We only did one hotel but if guests want to look themselves on NYE thats up to them.

We did two blocks. One nicer, one simple and $100.

I think that's standard in Boston we are central Mass and it's $149/night.

I never spend more than $100 plus tax a night. So that would be a nope from me. Id find a different hotel.

Depends on the area and what's around. In my town some hotel chains (Hampton, holiday inn) are $110-$140 a night, but then there are some SUPER nice hotels that are "historic", and charge up to $220 a night.

I would lean towards a hotel with a good price, and free breakfast. If there is a cheaper option nearby (and assuming both are close to your ceremony/reception), I'd suggest looking into that. Maybe make two blocks at neighboring hotels? Everyone would still be close and your guests could make a choice that is comfortable for them price wise.

This is all relative based on location. Find the best price you can. If it's still too much for your guests' budget, they will figure out alternate accommodations.

$139 is even steep and that's how much the rooms here in WNY will be for our hotel rooms either 2 queen bed or 1 king, and the suites are $159.

That's normal for Boston. Where is your wedding?
