Ring resizing at Kay's?

LaurenVictoria, on July 15, 2013 at 9:57 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 29

How long does it take to get rings resized at Kay's? They send it out to another location, correct? I'm a little nervous about that. What has been your experiences?

When I asked, they said it would take 3 weeks. Luckily, that was BEFORE I bought anything from them. I went to their sister store, Jared, and found the EXACT same ring I wanted for about $300 cheaper (and that price INCLUDED the lifetime warranty) AND they do inhouse sizing, cleaning, fixing, etc.

Awful, awful, awful experience. That's all I'll say, I'm not sure what all I'm allowed to say on here anymore.

I sent my ring to be sized and it came back scratched so it had to be sent out again. Total was about 4 weeks.

I know someone who sent their ring in for something, not sure what, and they lost it. They did eventually find it but still the fact that they couldn't tell her where her wedding ring was is terrible!

I had mine resized there and while I don't remember exactly how long it took... maybe 2 weeks? ... I didn't have any problems!

I worked for the company awhile back. We never had any problems with jewelry but I heard horror stories of other locations having a ton of issues. It should only take 2-3 weeks depending on the time of year. I got both my engagement and wedding band from there and other then them being pushy when we were buying my wedding band I don't have anything bad to say. BTW they offer 1/4 sizes. EX: if you put on a 7 and its too small and 7 1/2 is too big you can go with a 7 1/4 and it should fit perfectly :-)

Mine took about a week and a half. Came back 4 days earlier than they told me. FH's did too. I have had nothing but great experiences with them.

FH got my e-ring from Jcp bridal and it would have taken 3-4 weeks to resize for free. . We took it to a small jewelry store in town that FMIL frequents and they did it an about an hour for $20! We figured getting it resized for free just wasn't worth the long wait.

Mine took about a week in a half, but when one of the little stones fell out the following week, I took it back and they rushed it and it took 5 days.

Kay Jewelers did both my ring and just recently my mother in law's ring for her vow renewal. I was told then and now (for her band) that sizing takes 2-3 weeks. I've had nothing but great experiences with Kay Jewelers. Hope that helps!

I got one done there, a cheaper one, and you could see where they cut it to make it smaller

I got my ring 2 1/2 weeks ago. Two stones fell out today. I've seen posts saying that they will replace with a lesser quality diamond or even a fake one. How do I know?? I also need it sized DOWN quite a bit and, I'm wondering if I'm going to have problems with this particular ring.

We went ring shopping and i found my dream ring. I tries it on and it fit. My then boyfriend purchased the ring in October 2015. He proposed to me Christmas day 2016, how come the ring did not fit. I had to take it to get resized because it was obviously too small. My ring size is an 8 but the ring is took to get resized is a 6 1/4. I'm patiently waiting 2 weeks as I was told it will be back.
