Right side bride?

Talysa, on August 11, 2017 at 12:45 PM

I want to stand on the right side during the ceremony, instead of FH, for completely vain reasons. As a wedding guest would you find it strange to see the bride on the right?

    Wait a second....

I hadn't thought about it, but that would be how I want to stand too, also for vain reasons.

I wouldn't notice. But doing it to hide your BMs is shitty AF

I'm doing this as well...mostly because I'm left handed and do everything in life ass backwards anyway.

I just texted FH and asked to stand on the right side... but he has a scar on one side of his face he hates so maybe I'll suck it up and let him stand so you can't see it. He doesn't even know what side it's on when he's not looking in a mirror but in all of our pics he kept saying he noticed it Smiley sad I've been putting vitamin E oil on it lately hopefully it'll fade. But my left side is my good side!! LOL

I thought about doing this too. I think you can stand wherever you want, go for it! I doubt many people will give it much thought at all.

For a few seconds, I'd be thrown off. But, then it wouldn't matter. Do what you want, who cares.

Seeing as how we are two brides, one of us has to go on the right. But again, who cares? Also, in a lot of weddings, they don't have a bride's side and a groom's side for seating. At least that's my understand. I haven't actually been to a wedding in awhile.

And I agree with a previous poster- you asked her to be a BM because you love her as a person. Tattoo or not.

Stand where you want as long as it's in front of your FH/FW

I'm standing on the right side. My FH has scars and hair loss on the left side of his head from having a brain tumor removed 12 years ago. Whenever the hair loss is really evident in photos, he hates them, so we decided to switch the sides for the ceremony.

I was on the right both times. First wedding, we were both Jewish. Second wedding, we were both brides. Since her tradition was that the bride stands on the left, and mine was that the bride stands on the right, we both got to stand where the bride would stand in our tradition.

Unless you are having a Christian wedding, you get to choose whichever tradition works for you. And even if you are, you get to choose unless the officiant requires a different placement.

I didn't know there was a specific side! I'll definitely be on the right, also for vain reasons. Have a scar on my forehead/eye that I hate. Go for it! Who cares!

I did not know that the bride was supposed to be on the left? Since when has that ever been a rule? Lol

I understand this because my best side would be left which you would only see If I stood on the right...

I've always know I was going to stand on the right to show my good side. I don't see a problem with it

Nope. I'm doing it also. My left side is better and I don't want my horrible tattoo to show up in some of the pictures.
