Renting vs. buying tablecloths? Help!

Anonymous, on February 8, 2012 at 6:23 PM Posted in Planning 0 15

Hi ladies,

I'm trying to figure out rentals --- and I'm thinking of buying wholesale round 120" tablecloths instead of renting. It would cost a little more to buy, but I'm thinking I could sell them and gain back most of the money.

Has anyone done this before? Did you have a hard time selling your tablecloths, was it worth the effort?

Thanks! Smiley smile

We did that, and it worked out well for us. I had a section on my site where I advertised items for sale even before the wedding, and had people put down a deposit to reserve them. And the tablecloths were among the things that were all reserved even before the wedding.

Perfect, thanks for the words of confidence Smiley smile I was adding up stuff for rentals - linens, dinner plates, forks and knives -- and it was more than $600, not including tax. Finding it reallllly hard to justify that cost, so I think I will go the buy/resell route instead.

I ordered my linen from linentablecloth.com. The quality is great and the price is cheaper then renting in my area.

I just purchased all of mine for 246 dollars. I got two banquet table cloths, two fabric bolts, 12 table clothes, 12 table runners and 90 chair sashes.

I bought all of my 120 rounds from someone locally off of Craigslist for $7.50 each!!! They had only been used once and they were immaculate! If you're in an area large enough I'd watch CL for a bit. I hadn't seen any of the 132 rounds and I ordered those from efavormart.com. With shipping they were the best price that I found.

Has anyone purchased the Beige from linentablecloth.com? Wondering if its by chance a taupe-ish or true beige/brown. Thanks!

Linentablecloth.com is amazing! They were actually cheaper than the rental company in my town, by about $5 dollars a tablecloth. Plus, they frequently have coupons and sales going on. I bought 24 132" ivory tablecloths for $284. They arrived on time and in perfect condition!

You can always check craigslist. But it might take a while before anything you want shows up (if ever). Also, you're not guaranteed quality. But it might work out, like it did for Lala!
