Removing tables to make room for the dance floor

Olivia, on August 15, 2018 at 11:32 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 7

Hello lovelies!

Our venue is indoor outdoor with a good amount of space to roam. The indoor and covered deck space is limited, and our dance floor will be on the deck. We will have 5 round dinner tables there that will be broken down after dinner. We are seating younger friends out there. I know many people feel conflicted about breaking tables down, but it needs to be done.

These guests will have plenty of place to sit without these tables. There are benches on the deck and 10 picnic tables right next to the deck in the immediate area. There is plenty of space for them to claim to grab a seat after their table is removed.

I plan to make tiny signs to place on these 5 tables to let them know they will be broken down after dinner to make room for the dance floor. What I am asking here is help for wording of these little signs. Something like "These tables will be broken down after dinner to make room for the dance floor" Should I mention the picnic tables in this sign as well?

Thanks!!

Hi Olivia! Welcome to the WeddingWire Community! Smiley ring Maybe you can say something like:

"To allow enough space for everyone to enjoy the festivities, these tables will be broken down after dinner. However, there are picnic tables in the deck area if you would still like to have a seat. We kindly appreciate your understanding and hope you have an amazing time!"

Definitely include the info about the other tables because people need to know where they can put their stuff since you’re taking their table away.

Instead of putting a sign on the table, you could also include it on the other side of an escort card if you are doing those too to assign tables. This way it won't make the centerpieces look off with these 5 tables, and it'll be subtle. We were faced with having to break tables down until we picked a different layout that allowed us to keep all of the tables. I was planning on seating the wedding party and immediate family at these tables and that way I could tell them at the rehearsal dinner so they would all be aware and prepared before hand.

Definitely make sure they know about the picnic tables, I like knowing there is a place to put my purse and things if I want to get out and dance.
