Registry - has this happened to any of you?

We got a bunch of gift cards for the places we registered so I was going to go online and just order what we didn't get although now that I look back on my registry I'm wondering if DS and I were completely high when went to do it. lol!

But my question is, I saw a ton of items that had been purchased that we haven't received. And not just a few - a LOT. Granted a I know a few people will wait until after a wedding to send an item but it seems to be a lot that we haven't received.... and truth be told I did a little registry stalking before the wedding and some of these items have been bought for a while but not delivered. I don't mind sucking it up and not getting the gift (seriously I don't REALLY need the king-crab utility knife) but I just hate to think that someone bought something and it never got to me and hence - no thank you note. Smiley sad

    Fins - I thought (and I could be wrong) that you have something like 6 months to give a wedding gift after the wedding? I wrote my MOH a nice check a few months after her wedding, and she in turn sent me a thank-you.

    The opposite happened to me! I bought a gift of a Macy's registry and had it sent directly to the couple but I never got a thank you card and when I scoffed at their lack of etiquette they looked at each other dumbfounded. Pretty sure they never got the panini press, but i got charged for it!!! I had lost my receipt and didn't look into it so I'm not sure what happened, but it still bugs.

    @Heather - I agree, I'm not worried about future gifts coming in, I'm just concerned that gifts that have been checked out of my registry for a month or longer have not arrived.

    Have you contacted the registries customer service number to ask what the deal is? It sounds like this isn't so out of the ordinary. Let them know that you didn't receive it and would like the tracking numbers for the products.

    Fins, if you're registered at Bed Bath & Beyond contact the Sales Force Manager (they usually handle the Bridal Registries) and they can help you. Also you never know if maybe someone also picked up something else on your registry and is intending on giving it as a Birthday or Holiday Gift too. I used to work for Bed Bath & Beyond and we had a lot of customers do just that. Bed Bath & Beyond is actually very efficient with registries and if something is backordered that was being sent to you, they should let you know. Also some things can take 6-8 weeks to arrive too if that makes any sense.

    Could be they returned the item & gave you something else??? that happened to us on a few items. can you have your MOH or mom ask the guests? something like, i noticed you purchased _____ back in december however Fins & Mr. Fins never received the gift. just wanted to make sure it's not lost in the mail or yada yada yada.

    Becca makes a good point with B3... whenever a guest comes into the store, an 'unfullfilled' list is printed. next to every item will say if it's available or for delivery. available means the store should have it in stock. for delivery: means it must be purchased online thus can take weeks depending on the item. And if it's going to take a long time for you to receive it, then B3 will contact you.

    call each of the stores & tell them what happened... make them give you a good explanation of why a gift hasn't been received. the computers know who, when & how an item was purchased so don't give up!!

    I bought some things for a friend's baby shower off her registry, mailed them, all good. I went back and bought her a few more things off her registry, haven't found a box and have been too busy to mail them. BUT I'M GOING TO! :-/
