Registry gifts. When to send thank you notes.

We just got two of our registry gifts already. I had to call target to see who they were from. When should you send thank you notes ASAP or after the Wedding ?

I'll be sending em right away :-) my question is, I've read on here that you are suppose to take those gifts you receive in the mail and open them at your shower...? Is this true?

I agree with the ladies here, I would send thank you cards as soon as you receive a gift. If you send them as you receive them, you will not have to sit down and have a marathon thank you card writing session.

Send a thank-you note as soon as you receive a gift. Check and make sure the gift isn't broken. Wait until you're married to use the gift.

(If someone sends a check, though, cash it immediately.)
