Recommendations for Star Wars Wedding?

Ashley, on February 2, 2021 at 1:55 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 1 10

Hi all!!!

I've been planning our wedding for a while now and originally had an idea in my head about making lightsaber center pieces which ended up coming out to be way to much for the amount of tables that we will have. Trying to find the small cylinder skinny vases along with the acrylic gems got to be very expensive.
Does anyone have any simple ideas of centerpieces to go along with a star wars theme? I would like to stick to our theme instead of just putting a natural centerpiece like flowers or something like that.

This isn't my wedding! But these were geo tagged on my venue's Facebook page and I thought it was pretty cool!

or maybe each table themed after a different planet, ex. tatooine with more of a desert style center piece, coruscant head table a bit more regal, hoth a snowy theme, ect. Just some thoughts!

    I love your theme!

Are you dead set on light saber centerpieces?Maybe you could focus more on the droids or characters for each table?

I've looked all over Pinterest and trying to find something that isn't gonna be a $2000 expense is difficult.

    That's where I reached out.

I'm not dead set on lightsabers. That was just something that I got into mind and then I fell in love and haven't really been able to find something that sticks with the theme and isn't outrageously expansive.

I'm doing a dual theme of Star Wars and Lord of the Rings. There are so many amazing inspiration pics online but wow are they expensive!! I've decided to do lanterns for my centerpieces (borrowed from a friend who used them for her wedding) and am using my Cricut to put vinyl stickers on the glass panes that are either Star Wars or Lord of the Rings symbols (Jedi symbol or Evenstar symbol). I'm also using framed prints of SW and LOTR locations as our table numbers/table assignments.

The prints are from Etsy: Pop Culture Typography and Minimalist Prints by HarknettPrints (etsy.com)

It's almost like great minds think alike lol. I ended up going with these IKEA lanterns and printing out pictures of the star wars scenes and characters on vellum paper and then adding fairy lights inside.

the picture you sent is so cute. Its amazing idea

If you get vases from the dollar store you can fill them with water, put a battery operated light underneath. Then put either a floating candle or flowers at the top, really shouldn't cost much. There's a ton of dollar store diy ideas on pintrest that look really good.
