Mrs Gonzales, on May 29, 2011 at 12:25 PM Posted in Planning 1 12

I need so ideas for a recessional song.

Here is what i am using for the other songs during the ceremony.

When the bridal party enters At Last by Etta James song by a soloist

When I enter Bellas Lullaby by Carter Burwell played on a flute.

So I need some ideas for nontraditional songs

I just worked on wedding music this morning. All of our ceremony music is classical music. I am going with

    Recessional

    Mouret – Rondeau - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2sdNJ5G2In0

    Handel - Hallelujah - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=usfiAsWR4qU

    Postlude

Vivaldi – Spring from Four Seasons - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6LAPFM3dgag&feature=fvst

Handel – Hornpipe from Water Music Suite - Handel – Hornpipe from Water Music Suite

While it's all classical music, all of these are pretty familiar to the ear. What TYPE of music are you looking for? What is the feel? Formal? Informal? Party? Religious?

Well our ceremony is outside downtown right in front of the rock hall, i would say that our ceremony is pretty nontraditional, Based on both the music we have chosen as well as the fact that my brother is marrying us. I want it to be something fun that can either be played on the keyboard or flute or both.

    How about

All you need is love - Beatles

    Beautiful Day - U2

Is this Love - Bob Marley

Celebration - Kool and the Gang

A Moment Like this - Kelly Clarkson

What a Wonderful World - Louis Armstrong

    Any of those move you?

What about "Butterflyz" by Alicia Keys? I am using that somewhere in my wedding it is absolutely a beautiful song and its slow. People might not recognize it, but I love it. Just had to suggest it!

Right now I'm using Turtles "Happy Together", but that could change.

That's so funny I came down the aisle to At Last sung by a friend of mine. Our recessional was "Hallelujah Chorus" from Handel's Messiah, which was a poke at my husband, since we had been together for eight years before we got married. Hence "At Last" at the beginning. I recommend something joyous for the recessional. We had a string duet.

All my songs are non-traditional (ish). For our recession, I'm using Michael Buble - Some Kind of Wonderful

What a Wonderful World - Louis Armstrong. I like this song and I am always moved by the song. I think you can take it into consideration.

My daughter had "At Last" sung as her recessional. My grade school friend, who is a professional singer, sang it. For the Processional, my friend sang "I Just Can't Stop Loving You", the Michael Jackson song. It was great, and assisted by a friend who had actually performed and produced for Michael.
