Reception outfit

Army Wife, Navy Sailor, on December 28, 2011 at 2:31 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 19

I plan on changing into another dress for my reception, and i figured if i was changing into something more comfortable them my BM's should as well.

Am i asking to much of them by asking them to buy 2 dresses or do i just have them change into what ever they want.

i wanna do something like this:

I will be the one with the sash.

I personally think that would be asking too much since they are already extending their wallets for one dress , shoes, hair, makeup, etc. I don't see any reason why they should all match @ the reception, if they want to change into something else, I think it should be their decision on if they change & what they change into as long as it is appropriate.

If I was a bridesmaid, I would not purchase 2 dresses.

I agree that it would be asking too much. Not only does the bridal party have to dish out cash for the wedding day activities, they also host showers and typically bring gifts to ALL showers and the parties.

Agree with the other ladies here... your BM's should be able to change into whatever they choose, or continue to wear their ceremony dresses.

Asking your friends to buy two dresses they will probably never wear again is a big request.

The only job my BM's are going to have is to show us for the wedding. I am not having a shower, and i am not sure what u mean by wedding day activities

What im gonna have my bm's do is already have the knee length to tee length dresses so that way they are already comfy and not have to worry about the long dresses.. as for me im gonna switch into a party dress after pictures are done

I agree with the PP's buying 2 dresses is too much and as a bridesmaids I would want to wear the dress all night after paying for it.

I think asking them to pay for two dresses is too much. My BM's wore short dresses that they could party in. I ended up changing after all the photos and first dances.

Thanks!! I wanted to still wear white in my reception dress so that I would still stand out as the bride.

As the rest of the ladies have stated, asking for them to purchase a 2nd dress is asking too much. Look for a dress that looks elegant yet they could be seen wearing at the reception as well. I, myself, am changing into another dress after our ceremony because I plan on mingling and really enjoying myself and I'd like to have on attire that allows me to do so. First pic is my BM dress (It will be in deep purple) and the last two are pics of my reception dress. Good luck!

Yes I agree with the rest of the ladies that would be asking to much. If they want to change in to something else allthe pics were taking that would b something different like maybe if they all had shirts that said their title our something that they were.
