Really second guessing my dress decision!

Tina, on November 7, 2011 at 11:59 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 30

I already have purchased my dress. And it is being stored at my parents until I get the alterations, etc. done. I am really thinking that maybe it is too poufy! That I should of got something more A-line. It doesn't help that I keep looking at other dresses like all the time. Now I even am thinking of making an appt at a local bridal salon to try on others!! I attached a pic of me in dress and also a link to the model in the dress. What do you think? Am I just having normal reaction or do you think maybe I would look better in a different style?

I love your dress! You obviously found it stunning while you were at the bridal shop- I wouldn't think too much into it, and for heaven's sake, stop looking at other dresses! Smiley smile This one made you feel like a bride while you were there- enough to spend a few hundred dollars on it. Stick with it, you'll be happier not to have 2 dresses on your hands!

Its Beautiful!! very whimsical and dreamy Smiley smile if your worried about poof, bring it up with your alterations person. I'm gonna assume there is tulle underneath maybe you could have them remove a layer or two...

I did the dame thing. I have a dress bought paid for and altered but I hate it now. I went to DB and fell in love with a new one. I am going back in January to look at it again to make sure its true love lol.

Oh and about still looking, I'm gonna go with what Randy said from Say Yes to the Dress! Once you find your dress STOP looking, just like when you find the person you wanna spend the rest of your life with, you STOP looking for someone/something better. Smiley smile

I went through the same thing! When I went to pick up my dress I was not as in love with it as when I bought it Smiley sad I think it is because I also kept looking at others! Stop looking follow your first feeling when you purchased the dress! I love it, very beautiful!

Your dress is beautiful! But I do understand about second guessing... I second guessed myself as well until I tried my dress back on and I fell in love all over again.

I think it's normal. It's such an important day and we want everything to be perfect. If you knew it was the "one" when you tried it on when you bought I'd say quit looking Smiley smile

I love that dress! Its fun, but beautiful at the same time. I think we all experience this to some degree. You have to stop looking or else you will keep doubting yourself. If you felt it was the dress when you tried it on, then you made the right choice.

If you feel it is too poofy...easy fix. You can easily have all that extra tulle taken out from underneath it. And just don't have a petti coat underneath. I will be doing that with my dress. I don't like extra poof, plus i think all the tulle is scratchy.

That's a beautiful dress and looks great on you...STOP LOOKING. When I was dress shopping, I didn't want a poufy dress so one of the ladies taught me this trick. Lift up the top layer of fabric and then shove all the petticoats etc between your knees (toward the back of your dress) and put the top one back down...that will give you an idea (from the front at least) of how it can look if a seamstress removes some of the layers.

If you dont ike it anymore get a new one. I think its pretty, plus you never know trying on other dresses may show you how much you love the one you already have. Id do it fast though because some designers have a long wait time for their dresses.

I can understand how you feel. I first started looking for poofy ballgowns, but the more fitted gowns looked so much better on my body shape. I went with what looked better. But since I bought my dress, I am questioning whether I should have gotten the big ballgown... when else in your life will you have a chance to wear a big ballgown? I say, go with your fantasy dress. You look great in this dress.

Im guilty of having two dresses, thought I wanted short, bought it, lovvvve it! Then my finance starts talking about me wearing a long dress (he's never been married before) so I caved, the second guessing got me, I bought another and now Im not sure AGAIN! i MUST stop looking!!!

I had second thoughts about my first dress. I absolutely loved it but there was just a niggling in the back of my mind it wasn't quite right no matter how much I tried to stop I couldn't. Thankfully I hadn't purchased yet and found my dress shortly after and ended up purchasing it. I can say second guesses are normal I'd say go try it on again. Whenever I get a small doubt I pull up my pictures of me in it or go down to the shop to retry it on and everytime I fall in love with it again.
