Question about photo albums for parents

Kris...I can't wait to get an album for Christmas. Cate's photographer is annoying the hell out of me right now. She hasn't even gotten sneak peaks. I don't think there is anything wrong with your current album. As a mother, I would love to receive it exactly like it is.

I gave them pretty much the day after I got them. Gave MIL one and DH's Grandma one. I had the same reservations about waiting until a big holiday or their birthdays. Plus we got married in March and that was a loong ways away from Christmas. This way I get to Christmas shop still. I actually really like buying gifts for people.

Pan....Oh yes, if Cate were married in March, I wouldn't have wanted to wait until Christmas. : )

I think you should give it the way it is as well.

Also in your original thread I couldn't post.. You made a comment about having 100 something pages.. Its right on the money for pages for pressed books so its not a cluttered mess that fits the whole day. Thats about what I use for my econo books (pressed). So dont think you used too many.

I think sometimes parents and especially grandparents love getting pictures of the kids and grandkids as Christmas gifts. They often times don't need much material things, and pictures are a much more sentimental and personal gift compared to a sweater. I guess it is your preference.

Christmas seems better than giving it to them for their birthday. :-) I don't think there has to be a special occasion. I will be married in April so Christmas seems kind of late so I might just gave it to them when it's printed.

Oops just saw you had an April wedding too. Hmm. Maybe I will do Christmas after all.

Thanks guys! Yeah, the timing is my big debate - I'll have the albums in hand in a couple of weeks and our wedding was at the end of April, so Christmas seems far away. But also we're talking about the first week of October, so what's the difference between then and Christmas, really?

I do have to author different versions, unfortunately. My mom would be hurt to see full page spreads of my dad and his stepkids. My dad would be hurt to see full page spreads of my mom and me and my brother dancing. FIL wants to see full page spreads of the priest that came to bless us over dinner and I have to edit out the cute BM photo shoot that SIL boycotted b/c it would upset him and he would accuse us of being mean to her. I could go on.

And Sara you're right - my family members have been known to give each other framed photos of themselves for holidays. Usually it's the portrait from the church directory. I have many framed pictures of my grandparents where my grandpa is wearing a very loud Jesus-themed tie.

You're welcome. Press books you can use with way more pages and photos. They are thin, the high end ones max is usually 70 because the pages are thicker.

I am the only lady from "Titanic". I have loads of pics of everyone and I can never give them up. I LOVE receiving pics in a nice frame for any ocassion.

Lol! it never even crossed my mind of giving them...now i feel terrible. lol

I think its a great idea for christmas..when i receive any type of pics from my kids i cherish them...imo its way better than a toaster or gift card.im sure they will love your albums and its a great idea that you are changing them up for each one!

My cousins have each given their parents and our grandparents wedding albums as Christmas gifts. We'll probably do the same, if we can get them turned around quickly enough. And the parents/grandparents were SOOOO excited. So, as long as you're comfortable with the timing, I think it's fine to wait until Christmas.

I made the little ones from Vistaprint to use up a groupon, but they seem kinda cheap & havent given it to them.. I plan on making then ones personally, If you have them done by christmas, then thats great, you can always give them before as well.. I would be too impatient!

Hubby and I were talking about that the other day, how a lot of people are going to get wedding pictures for Christmas... haha! Of course that won't be the only present, and other than the albums for my parents and MIL, the photos will include the person we are giving them to.
