Purple and ????? for my August wedding. Help!

Jaime, on January 9, 2013 at 12:04 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 26

Thinking purple and orange. Any better ideas? Orange bouquets with splashes of purple to match David Bridal's Lapis color bridesmade dresses.... What do you think?

I LOVE this website for creating color schemes: https://kuler.adobe.com/#themes/search?term=purple

and there is also this one that always has gorgeous colors: http://design-seeds.com/

My only suggestion would be to not make every color in your scheme so big and bold. You will want a neutral (like brown, gray or even silver like Samantha suggested) so that it tones down the other bright colors. I personally think that gray always adds a touch of elegance to any color scheme and isn't as harsh as black.

My primary color is orange and secondary color is purple. Yes its bright and bold, but I'm a bright and bold person. It all a matter of personal preference.

Ok my girls are also wearing Lapis!! And Im trying to find ties to match for the guys! And I love the idea of really bright bouquets. I am doing fushica gerber daisy's and my bouquet is going to have orange dahlias in it!! I think the bright is awesome for the flowers but that doesn't mean you have to put orange in anywhere else. I haven't really chosen another color for my "colors" I am sort of going along the lines of purple and sliver but I don't have much that is sliver, why do we have to pick two?

I like those colors but I'm biased. I'm doing different shades of purple for bridesmaid dresses and their bouquets will be orange roses, orange gerber daisys and lavender stock.

My bouquet will be different shades of purple. It's all about what you like and looks best to you Smiley smile

Most of my brides who are using lapis are going with purple and white. An ideal match for the purple would be "Picasso" calla lilies which are purple on the inside and white on the edges. Mixes with purple lizianthus and then something white it would look beautiful.

We are doing purple, green, and grey. The groom and bridesmaids are wearing grey with purple accents (purple vest for him, purple sashes for them). Groomsmen are in black tuxes with grey vests/ties. Purple table cloths, green chair sashes and napkins, white manzanita tree centerpieces in green pots with purple flowers.

I think it will pull together nicely without any one color being overdone.

What about purple and turquoise? I have a picture of a place setting in those colors on my pinterest and it beautiful and a bit unique. I'm doing a similar purple as my main color and going for a winery vibe to the reception so I haven't completely decided on accent colors.

    Or

    Green

    Black

    Silver

I am not a purple and orange fan. I love purple, not so keen on orange. But that is just me.

My temptation, with purple, would be teal.

I do agree with Samantha, you may want to tone one of the two colors down.

My daughter only had, in reality, one color - Cornflower blue. We did black table cloths, cornflower napkins with white flowers. To add a bit of color, some pink showed up in the floral arrangements. The BM's wore cornflower dresses and groomsmen wore black tuxes with cornflower vests.

My wedding is August as well, and my colors are purple and black with silver accents, I know it's dark, but it is a formal evening wedding, so it works for us! Take your formality and venue into consideration! (o:

Orange is great! I think you'll love it!
