We started dating in Nov 2020 and he proposed Aug 1, 2021. We have set a wedding date for Dec 11, 2021 bc this is a 2nd marriage and we are buying a house together hopefully b4 the end of 2021 (so for financial reasons). No reason for us to wait or have a super long engagement we are older (mid 40s & 50s) I was only engaged for less than 4 months b4 I was married the 1st time and we were married for almost 22 years. I've been divorced since June 2017 and my fiancée has been divorced since 2012.
My fiancé and I dated in college and we parted ways because timing just wasn’t right at the time. We dated other people and both of us stayed in long relationships even though we weren’t happy. We reconnected over a year ago and it was like time didn’t pass at all. We were better people though and the magic that was there before intensified. He proposed to me after a year of being back together and I will say I have never been happier.
We were together almost 20 years before deciding to get married. I was very surprised we he actually got me an engagement ring the next Valentine’s Day. Did not expect that after all this time!
It took him 7 1/2 years to propose to me and our wedding will be next year. It’s crazy but I think we both needed all that time to figure out if we wanted to be together forever it’s the toughest decision but overall it’s the best choice I’m so happy and things to wedding wire I’ve been stress-free about planning my wedding.

Ok, so real shocker here. We were together 4 months and he did not ask me I asked him! It was the best decision I've ever made.
