Just got our wedding photos back today and couldn't be happier. Everything turned out the best possible way it could and I got to marry my best friend. We broke all the rules, Destination Wedding on a Monday, Husband helped me pick out the dress, we shared a room the night before the wedding, we did the first look and still the moments leading up to and walking down the aisle were amazing. Things went wrong with food but we were the only ones who knew. People complained about it being a destination wedding on a Monday but after the fact, everyone loved that it was a whole weekend of activities and that they got to know the other guests.
Tips: assign someone to fix the back of your dress and hire a videographer (I don't remember much from that day and we had a small guest list). People will expect to hang with you the whole weekend of a destination wedding so be prepared and if you want a night off, just tell them in advance. I didn't know this. Everyone loved the personalized name cards, no one noticed the monogramed napkins we used at happy hour.
Very happy my Husband convinced me not to elope our micro wedding (28 including us) was the perfect day.
