Postponement: what are you doing on your original day?

Unfortunately, like MANY others, my Fiancé and I have decided to postpone our wedding. We were scheduled for May 24th but now have decided to postpone until August 2. Instead of mourning the original day, we have decided to celebrate it. We have decided to recreate our “first date” the best that we can. (Our first date was in Cuba! A VERY, VERY spontaneous trip to say the least!) We are going to eat the foods that we ate there, drink mojitos, listen to Cuban music and reminisce! What are you going to do on your original Big Day date?

    That sounds like such a cute idea!

    We don't have any big plans for our day. The month mattered more to us, our original day, May 9th, was just the best one the venue had available when we started planning our wedding. We're probably going to order delivery from a restaurant as a treat (we've been cooking our meals at home) and drink some adult beverages. I also plan to indulge in some ice cream Smiley laugh .

    I have the same type of idea! Want to make my plan b awesome so I’m not depressed on the day. My wedding is July 25 in Napa and if postponed we will elope to Lake Tahoe with a few friends and get married by the lake. I already booked the hotel with free cancellation. The only issue I’m having is figuring out how to tell my parents bc I don’t want any family there. They have been extremely toxic during the wedding planning and to have just my fiancé and like 5 friends sounds like a dream.we will still have the big wedding next year so they get to be there for that.sounds like your plan b is super fun. Good for you!!

    Ours is tomorrow and I just plan on ordering a pizza and making the night easy on us. We already got married so I am hoping I don't feel upset but if I do then I will allow myself time to grieve. Thankfully, I started a masters program so I plan on attending my seminar and completing some schoolwork. Stay busy is my motive for tomorrow.

    I completely understand what you mean by toxic (not my current relationship, but my past was just as so) My current wedding is only about 17 people. We want a very intimate wedding. I hope you are able to have your actual wedding on the 25th! If not, Lake Tahoe sounds beautiful! Smiley smile Remember, its your wedding, not theirs; do as you please that will make you and your Fiance happy!!

    OMG I love that!! Our first date was sushi and looking at Christmas lights. Maybe we can pick up sushi and pull up cool houses with Christmas lights on YouTube
