Postponed Weddings Decor

Paula, on March 18, 2020 at 7:54 PM Posted in Style and Décor 1 17
What are you doing with the items that your purchased with your original date on them? Are you still going to use them or re purchase them with the new date?

I have a guest book, vow books and wedding favors all with 04.04.2020. I was thinking of still using them because this postponement is apart of our story and they will be expensive to replace.

I hadn't even thought of that yet!!

I have wedding favors and a gift for his parents with the date on them. I may reach out to the etsy shop that gave us our wedding favors and see if they would be willing to give us a discount given the circumstance? But I also feel bad about them losing money so I think that isn't ideal either.

Guess I'm just going to use them?!

Someone put on here that they were gonna put a frame out that said "Pardon our signage, we were blessed to have two wedding dates"

Keep the dated stuff. The postponement is a huge part of your life story, how you powered through together as a couple

Thanks! We will keep all the stuff! I still want something with the new date on it though since that would be our actual wedding day. I messaged the Etsy seller than did our wooden guest book to see if I can get the wooden numbers of the new date to add to it and have two dates on the guestbook. Smiley smile

I definitely think you should still use them!! Your original date is part of your wedding story, and will make everything feel even more personal and significant once you finally get to celebrate! Smiley heart

I reached out to the shops in question, all were very understanding. Some gave a straight refund, others gave me 50% off on future orders.

It would even be cute if you can get a sign that has your original date, then effectively crossed out with the new wedding date... coming thru something like this together is always an amazing story and inspiration.

We are going to use and build upon what we already had planned on using at our June wedding for our December wedding. We were using mainly white floral (Magnolia's) and Greenery (Magnolia leaves) so we are going to build/add in pops of winter with the addition of burgundy winter flowers and additional textured branches. My BM's were already wearing gem toned floor length satin dresses, I am going to gift them plaid shawl's to wear on their shoulders/arms. FH and Groomsmen are going to switch from blue to black suits and our ceremony moved from outside to indoors. I will be spending a little more money over the upcoming months on truly creating winter out of spring, however, we have mostly everything paid off already so the extra spending won't be as difficult. We are spending the time and money to change the date monogrammed items. We are embracing our December date as our official date. The majority of our vendors have been amazing about correcting the date on things and it's been a pretty easy transition so far.

    That's such a clever idea!

The only thing I had with a date so far was the dress hanger I ahd made through Etsy. But I don't want to order a new one so I'm planning on using it if the photographer does any dress pictures before we go to the courthouse

The only thing we had the date put on (other than invites) was my FH's suit, embroidered on the inside. He's joked about having the date crossed out and a new one added.

I'm not sure what we will do yet. I really hate Covid-19.
