postponed wedding to aug 29th

Dina, on May 5, 2020 at 11:50 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 5

Wedding was supposed to be May 30th and now had to reschedule it to Aug 29th. And of course the vendors I have reserved are not available in Aug 29th. The makeup/hair, DJ so far that I have reserved was great prices and worked with my budget. Any suggestions?

Unfortunately you will have to find new vendors or change to a date that your venue + all vendors have available.

    Date twins!
I agree with Monica above. Our wedding was originally 5/2/20 and we rescheduled for 8/29/20. We originally wanted a date in late Sept or early Oct but 8/29 was the only date the venue and all 6 vendors were available so we went with it. You may need to drop those vendors who aren’t available but prepared to lose your deposits.

We were supposed to get married May 30th too and have postponed till August 8th. I have also have had to change a couple of vendors, including our venue since they were already booked. One thing we've done is asked friends and family to do some things and pay them for cost. We're doing that with hair and makeup as well catering. Unless you really want to have a DJ lots of people have used playlists they made for their reception and it worked pretty well.

I mean at this time you may have to be a littlr more flexible with allowing them to tell you what dates they have available and see which date would work best for you both. Good luck

    Hi Dina,

I'm so sorry to hear that you've already postponed your wedding once and now you may have to shift the date again or change vendors. How are things looking in your area for an August event? Or are you adjusting your guest count to keep it smaller? All areas are responding differently to the COVID-19 crisis and subsequent reopening, so I'm curious if you're expecting any other challenges--aside from finding a new HMU team and a new DJ.

The general consensus for August is that couples should continue to monitor the situation and try to make a decision by the end of May. It's basically a waiting game right now. You're not alone. Check out these discussions with other August couples:
