Post Destination Wedding reception party - invites

Michelle, on January 1, 2015 at 8:10 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 4

All, Looking for basic but fun wording for a post destination wedding party "home party". Inexpensive site to get invites printed, besides vista print?

Also, is it tacky to do an RSVP via e-mail or phone call for the "home" party to save of funds?

I don't think its tacky to do an email or phone RSVP for that type of reception.

Can't help you on the wording though! Good luck Smiley smile

You could call it an "After Party" - like they do with Awards Shows or after a play/film or other big celebration. Smiley smile I think it's acceptable to RSVP via email or phone call. As for economic invites - if you have a Walmart, Sam's Club or Costco close by - go online to their photo center and purchase or design your own invites. You can personalize with a picture from your destination wedding or use a pre-designed invite to add your information.

I am getting married in Antigua with only 11 attendees. But we are having our reception back home with 147 on the invite list. We are sending out invites that state this is our reception. Our friends and family know that we are getting married away and that their invite/RSVP is for reception only. We are doing mail RSVP's but may give the option for email RSVP. I am definitely sending out paper invites because the last wedding i went to that was an email invite, several people did not show because they forgot! I think it helps to send out paper invites because people will put them on their refrigerator or are more likely to take action on the marking the calendar because they have the paper reminder sitting there...just my opinion... Also, i was thinking about putting "Come celebrate with us" or something along those lines to further the notion that it is a reception or celebration party and not a wedding.
