Polaroid Wedding Guest Book

gamecock0207, on April 11, 2014 at 7:15 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 12

So my fiance and I want to do a Polaroid Wedding Guest book where the guests can take a picture of themselves, put it in our book, and then write us a note instead of the traditional signing of the book. However, i have NO idea where to get a book to hold 150-200 kodaks without breaking the bank or having 17 books on the table. i saw someone had posted something about putting a book with blank pages and some sticky tack for the people to attach their pictures to. does anyone have any experience/advice on this?? thank you!!! i've attached a picture of what i'm talking about since i'm terrible at explaining things!

The film is SUPER expensive for this. You may want to research film cost before moving forward. Cute idea, but just not usually feasible. Good luck!

Yep. GameCox stole my comment. I NEVER use my Polaroid camera because film is through the roof. We're talking roughly $11 per 10 polaroid prints. Not to mention, people are going to want to take more than one photo if their photo turns out bad so you're going to have to stock up on extra prints.

Also, not everyone knows how to treat Polaroid prints. You aren't supposed to shake the photos, you're just supposed to lay them flat to let them develop. Cool idea, but will be a LOT more costly than you think.

What about a scrapbooking album. You will need someone there to tell people what do to d ( at least a teenager, adult would be better) find a design that would divide the page up in 3-4 sections on the paper. Have the person take the digital picture and have the guest sign the book and then print them out and match it up. You can add extra pages to those albums very easily, but make sure you use archival acid free glue. Check with friends and family, somebody is probably a scrapbooker and can help you.

I've been struggling with this a lot too. I am not the biggest fan of the scrapbooks from photo booths because they aren't super personal they way they are glued (I know I'm a perfectionist). I thought of pre-making the scrapbook and having someone take pictures but what if you can't read the signature or people forget to sign it - you'd have to try and match up their words with pictures...

Are you using an old school Polaroid? If not you might look into a new instant film camera, the Fuji film instax seem to have the best reviews. With those you can buy film that has sticky backing already. You can do a blank scrap book and attach the pictures to the pages. I'm not sure what your budget is, but you can find instax guest books and Polaroid books on Etsy. I just searched in Etsy under instax book and Polaroid book.

Might I add because I'm thinking of doing this you have to think some people might take 1 2ghtr is kinda like a mini photo booth and the pictures will be very small so everyone shouldn't have a page of their own people should be more considerate I don't want to sound mean but I'm talking about my future guests as well but people should have more common sense not 2 jus take a whole lot of pics
