Pocketfold Invitations Question

Nicole S. (formerly Nicole C), on May 27, 2013 at 7:09 PM Posted in Planning 0 14

Did anyone send the invites in the mail with just a pocketfold and a sticker seal? Or did you buy envelopes in addition to that? Where did you get your pocketfolds/envelopes?

I really like the look but I'm trying to justify the cost... any info at all would be REALLY appreciated since I'm trying to order soon and I'm not good at this sort of thing...

I've seen some ladies order pockets from a website I believe it's called card and pockets. And added their invites to the pockets.

I don't know how well they would hold up in the mail with just a seal on them.. sometimes my mail gets roughed up. Hopefully someone else has had experience with that.

But I do believe that is the website I've seen a couple of ladies on here mention.

I didn't do pocketfold invites, but I would recommend envelopes.. Whenever we've gotten invitations, the envelopes are always banged up and sometimes even torn in the mail, protecting the invitation. I am probably a big dork, but I love saving people's invitations, so its nice to have them in good shape! Smiley smile And you put so much work into them usually.. Good luck though!

We are getting ours, well actually the supplies (I'm making a different version of pocketfold) , from paperandmore.com. they have pocketfolds of different types and prices, and envelopes are around 25- 30 cents apiece

I probably will do envelopes if I get them... I'm afraid of things falling out, but I'm trying to figure out how to do it cost-effectively, maybe learn from what other people did.

I agree love the pocket folds but when you start figuring it all up it can get pricey i wanted to use my money in other places but didn't want to sacrifice that look i saw in my head i recreated a invitation i fell in love with using illustrator and Photoshop printed them at office depot for 59 cents a sheet so 2 5x7 invites on one sheet or 4 3.5x5 rsvps on one sheet then got envelops small and large 14$ total for both and then 12x12 card stock half price at 2.50 for 25 sheets as well as scrap book ribbon for 1$ each at hobby lobby at micheals i found a thing of lace (10 yrd) for ten bucks and lastly 7yrd of pink ribbon for 4 bucks each its not pocket but i settled on this look that i actually really like my mother in law also got me a wax seal from micheals but they are very affordable i havent sealed them yet but you can get the basic idea

Once you seal them are you going to put them in envelopes? Are you afraid they items are going to fall out of the sides??

You're very crafty which is awesome... I hope I have some luck!!

I did pocketfolds and yes I still used an envelope. The extra cards would have fallen out if I hadn't. I ended up ordering mine from mygatsby.com but cardsandpockets has them also. Good luck

I did pocketfolds but I bought the pocket and created all the inserts and actual invite myself using photoshop. I bought the pockets and all cardstock from paperandmore.com and I must say that I am now addicted to that site. Their quality is amazing and the price is better than what I usually find at stores like Michaels. I put mine in a white vellum envelope then into a purple outer envelope.

Pocketfolds can substitute for the traditional inner envelope, but not for the outer envelope.

I'm doing the pocketfolds. I'm getting the cascade pocket from paperandmore.com and I'm getting the envelopes to go with them. I recommend getting them, transport can be rough on your invites. I got the sample and realized that our monogrammed sticker won't be enough to seal the invite shut so consider that too. I'm going to use double sided tape and have the sticker just for looks.

I'm having pocketfolds for my invitations, except mine already come with the envelopes. I wouldn't be comfortable sending them without one.

I'd still do the outer envelope since the mail can get seriously banged up and you don't want any of your inserts to fall out! Depending on the size, I think that Wal-Mart carries some different sized envelopes. Or try Michael's and Hobby Lobby.
