I've been doing some price comparisons the last few days to get the best deal and Dollar Tree seems to be the best choice. I've ordered from them before, so I trust them over some random seller I've never bought from. I'm ordering the dinner plates, dessert plates and the silver flatware. I figured I'd reach out to you guys before I take the plunge.

Has anyone used the silver flatware from Dollar Tree? The reviews on the site are positive and "durable" was mentioned in nearly every review. I just don't want them breaking as guests are trying to eat.

I know no one likes plastic, but I have always found the clear is sturdier than the white plastic... As long as I wasn't using that I wouldn't complain at all.

I decided to go with Sam's Club. They had the Reflections flatware that seems to be the leading brand - and the price was actually better than Dollar Tree. Sam's had the dinner plates & cake plates I wanted to so I got those too.

Thanks for all the input ladies!

I did use the dollar tree ones over the weekend and it worked out great, But we only had ham salad sammies, and potato salad and cake and finger foods otherwise. They seemed really nice for the price. I did the clear fancy plastic serving bowls and they were nice too.

Awesome! I think this is gonna workout just fine. I'm glad I got it off the list. We're 103 days out!

I need to figure out which cups I'm gonna buy. I'll look in Sam's when I pick this order up.

I'm too much of a hippie to use plastic, lol. Everything we use will be biodegradable. Paper would have been fine, but we are going with these palm leaf plates I found. A little spendier, but way cooler. Plus we are having Hawaiian food, so it works. Plant starch flatware for takeout is the norm in Portland, and that's what we're using.

Dollarama had these plates, so we bought one for each guests plus more hahah. Beautiful square white plates. We wont be using plastic cutlery, but we will most likely be using plastic glasses.

I'm using plastic wear!! I'm also having BBQ and a ridiculously large wedding of 1000 people....it only makes sense. But I think the people who turn their nose up to it need a reality check anyway, they should be thankful they are invited to your special day. ENJOY! AND SAVE WHERE YOU CAN!

Thanks, @FutureMrsDean! I'm actually really excited about themSmiley smile. They're $35 for a case of 100, so a bit spendier than paper, but not too bad. They even make heart shaped ones. Our wedding leans toward and eco theme, so they're perfect. I spent way to much time researching disposables, lol.

LightBlue, good choice! And I feel you on spending too much time researching. I did a Google search, then checked Costco, Sams, BJ's - back to Dollar Tree. I finally just told myself "just buy the damn things and be done with it!". Haha!

FutureMrsDean, I am getting my utensils and plates from Webstaurants.com. The price is pretty reasonable..... the utensils come in a 12 pack for real flatware starting as low as $1.04 a pack and I will be getting the disposable plates. Of course the more you order the cheaper each pack will cost. I will be using those for dinner and the disposable utensils for cocktail hour as the cocktail hour food wont require much if any cutting.... This is for a 110 guest.

MrsMarlow, that is a good price for real flatware. That's the same cost as the disposable ones from The Dollar Tree. But we're using disposable because our venue doesn't provide cleanup and we don't want to have to worry about it. The caterer will pack up the food and the all the tableware can just be thrown in the trash.
