Future Mrs. Hicks
Dedicated April 2020

Planning :)

Future Mrs. Hicks, on March 31, 2019 at 7:18 PM Posted in Planning 0 37

How far have you come within your wedding planning? My wedding is 04/18/2020 and I see some people tell me I shouldn't be doing things so early.

1. Our venue is already paid for. (which includes the ceremony and reception and all the decorating and bartenders)

2. My 2 gowns for wedding and reception are picked out and paid for .

3. My Bridesmaids dresses are picked out.

4. Caterer picked and paid for.

5. Cake picked out and paid for

6. Mom of the bride and groom attire is already picked/ Flowers girls too !

7. Bought my Fiance Ring

8. Wedding menus/programs already selected and paid for

9. Florist picked but deposit down.

Still more things to do but this is what I have done so far Smiley smile

    There is absolutely nothing wrong with getting things done early. My date is 4/25/2020, a week after yours! We aren’t moving as quickly as you but we have our venue, officiant, my dress, and we are meeting with potential DJs next week. I’m also currently looking around at bridesmaids dresses and trying to figure out what color tuxes I want my FH and his groomsmen in. Soon we will start checking out photographers. We have a wedding planner and she gives us three things to do at a time so we don’t get too stressed. It’s all so much fun!

    Sounds like you’re an awesome planner - everyone does things at their own pace and on their own time so don’t listen too much to outside opinions; great that you’ve gotten things paid for, that’s fantastic and seems like the big parts!

    I think the earlier the better especially since you are getting married in April! I am getting married in January when not a lot of people get married so I have kind of been slacking since I have been having an easier time finding vendors. It seems like you are pretty well set!

Anyways great job!!!!Smiley smile I think you’re on track and better to be early then late and rushing..

    There's nothing wrong with getting things done early. It means less stress for you later. You are doing great. I just need to get my rehearsal scheduled and I should be all set. Thank goodness!

    Hi! We are wedding date twins! I hope the sun shines beautifully for us on April 18, 2020! Where is you wedding going to be? Congratulations on getting so many tasks done! When did you start wedding planning?

    I have:
    1. Hired a full service wedding planner
    2. Tour venues
    3. Booked a venue
    4. Spoken to florist/event design/caterer and am waiting for final proposals.

    There is still so so much to do!!!

    I think that is awesome that you are so far ahead of schedule! Don't listen to people. The more things that are done far in advance the less you have to stress about in the weeks leading up to the wedding. My date is 10/11/19 and I'm pretty much done planning. My fiance and I are just working out the smaller details. Everyone has their own process to wedding planning. Keep doing things the way you want to!

    You're awesome and do what you need to do to get it done and ease your mind. I'm the type that obsesses with things until it's taken care of.

    With flower girl the only issue is she may grow a foot and be way bigger then the dress. Then if you get a size or two up she may not grow as much.

    Yes, I think like minded people like us just feel so much better planning ahead!

    I’m getting married in October, and definitely started planning more than a year out, I have nearly everything done except my FHs suit! It’s very satisfying and makes me look forward to the day rather then it feeling like an impending deadline. But I think it’s different for everyone, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that!

    I am 4/26/2020

    So far, we have a lot done! But I am trying to finish as much as I can before I start teaching in the fall!

    We have...
    * booked our venue
    * picked our colors
    * bought my dress (OTR so I already have it)
    * bought my shoes and jewelry
    * booked our catering and gone for a tasting (selected our menu as well)
    * booked our photographer
    * booked our photobooth
    * booked our DJ
    * chose our florist
    * chose our bakeries
    * informally booked HMUA for myself, MUA for bridal party
    * began buying my bridesmaids gifts
    * made our guest list (still need to finalize)
    * bridesmaids picked their gowns (will purchase later this year)
    * purchased materials for DIY centerpieces
    * purchased table runners
    * purchased materials for DIY invitations
    * purchased a few other supplies (easel for seating chart, card box, guestbook, and tags for the bubble exit)
    * created our registries
    * ordered our wedding bands
    * created our wedding website
    * booked our engagement session (and my HMUA for it), my outfits for it are purchased but not FHs yet

    We are down to the little details now, and I’ve been loving planning. It has been a great stress reliever for me!
